Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

Silk is the best sock-liner material I have ever used hands-down. Super comfortable, cool in the summer, warm in the winter, wicks well and less odor. It is light and dries overnight if washed in the sink. I have used these sock liners under wool socks when backpacking, and I sometimes use them with my leather fishermen sandals if walking a long distance while on vacation to reduce friction. I think silk is MUCH better than any synthetic man-made "wonder" material, with the only disadvantage being it is somewhat less durable and can be damaged by abrasion. In my opinion, its superb comfort outweighs the fact that it wears out slightly quicker. I have never had a silk sock liner really fail on me (maybe a small hole has developed). If you are concerned about this, take along an extra pair.

Very comfy liner socks. Wore them on my John Muir Trail hike in August. But a few hikes later, a hole appeared after washing. Not too durable.

Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

What can I say about it other than it is the best thing that has happened to my hike?! I used them for the first time backpacking (same pair the whole weekend) under my smartwool socks and I did not get any blisters, not even a hotspot. They stayed dry and feel seamless (no annoying seam on the toes or heel).

The only con I noticed was that because they are thin it looks like they may wear quickly but i haven't had any problems yet.

They are great for daily use too and work well with those dress shoes that make feet uncomfortable and sweaty.

I highly recommend these! They are worth every cent.

Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

These socks keep my feet warm, even when wet! I wore them underneath my dive booties in Monterey, and my feet didn't go numb for the first time in 10 years of cold-water diving! I also wore them for 12 hours in Lost Soldier's Cave, and even though my shoes were wet and muddy the whole time, my feet stayed warm. They are thin enough to wear under climbing shoes on cold days, and small enought to stuff into your pack for emergencies. They are thin and light for warm-weather sports, too! I'm stocking up on extra pairs. You can't beat the price for versatility and comfort!

I use these liners 40+ hours per week. I work as an EMT for a Casino and spend 6-8 hours per shift on my feet. These liners have totally eliminated the occasional blisters I used to get.

Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

I've used REI's Silk Sock Liners for years and love them. They solved a problem for me, thats getting hot spots, wet sweaty feet and tired feet when I hike. When I break for 10 minutes, pulling my Thor-los off and letting the silk dry is like putting new socks on. I stopped a hot spot problem I had, havent had a blister since I started wearing them. Cut your toe nails close tho, theyre thin!

Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

Learned about silk socks 30 years ago. Tried everything modern and space age, these work the best. Helpful hint: Don't wash them too much, they slick up and that's what helps keep the blisters away. That way, the silk sock and the outer sock slide better against each other and not against the skin. Do you want sweet-smelling feet or no blisters/hot spots?

Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

I ordered a pair of these liners and tried them on once. Already, the seam along the toe is pulling loose, leaving a hole! Just from putting them on and pulling them off once.

They did feel very comfortable on, though, and my feet instantly felt cool--that was impressive. But they seem to be poorly constructed.

Comments about REI Silk One Liner Socks:

Love these liners. In the hot Texas summer, my feet stay dry. In the cold Pennsylvania winters, my feet stay dry and warm. I always wear these under thick merino wool socks, and the liners help regulate the temperature and moisture of my feet regardless of the outside temperature. They also vastly cut down on hotspots and, consequently, blisters.

I usually wear them when hiking/backpacking, but also on cold, snowy days. I plan to buy a few more pairs.
