This fuel is much less volatile than competing products, enough so that my self-pressurizing stove (Svea 123) would not run on it in cool (around freezing) weather. More heat must to supplied to the fuel to vaporize it. Would only recommend it to those who needed to skip a few hot meals.

Convenient Liquid Camp Stove Fuel

I prefer a gasoline fueled camp stove for regular camping (not backpacking) as it lasts longer and is less expensive to operate than propane and less offensive odor (to me.) A quart can of Crown Camp Fuel is a convenient way to transport liquid gas, and easy to pour into a tank with funnel. Helps keep a camp stove burning with minimal or no yellow flame, and the generator operating correctly for years. Gave 4 stars, not 5, as on a price per gallon it's not cheap! But neither is a new stove.

Fuel works well and good for the price. Used in my M*R stove and had no problems lighting. Was at 8,500 Ft elevation can not evaluate for any higher.

Did the job

We used this fuel to power our MSR camp stove on our recent hiking trip near and along the AT. It worked great. It's just one of those things you have to arrange in advance of your trip. Thank goodness there's a REI nearby!

Fuel worked fine, but is too (much too) expensive. I use regular gas for my multi-fuel stove, but my 50 year old Coleman lantern requires white gas. Price was in excess of $32/gallon

I needed flammable liquid...

...and I got it! This stuff burns, and when I put it in my MSR International, it makes my water hot! Who wants to go to the woods without the comfort of hot water? Tea? Heck no, not with out hot water. Coffee? No way! Reconstituted vacuum packed food rejected by astronaut. Not even a chance. Thank you flammable liquid for keeping me civilized when I surroundings are not. I am in your debt.
