Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
These socks are so amazing I turned around and bought 5 more pairs. Comfortable for all day hiking and blister protection. I'll keep buying them as long as they keep making them.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
Bought six pairs prior to my deployment to Afghanistan. Wish I would have bought more so I don't have to do laundry so often. They have been amazing. They keep your feet dry and warm and are extremely comfortable. Other guys have been ordering them and have had the same results. I just ordered some of the lightweight SmartWools to have when summer gets here. I hope they are as good.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
Kept my feet dry and blister free after hours of fire fighting. They do stretch out out of shape if you do not wash them regularly.ie if your on a fire for several days.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
Learning about smart wool socks a few years back from a friend and now it's the only sock I will wear. I have read the reviews under the smartwool women's site as I was looking for wool socks for my better half, and was a bit shocked to learn women's smart wool socks must wear our rather fast. I have 3 pair of smart wool socks that are at least 5 years old now. The one pair have a small hole on the top after saving my foot in a motorcycle spill. The road ate my shoe and a small hole out of the sock and not my skin. My only problem now is my terrier LOVES smartwools too! Even though I hid them away in the hamper, she finds them and hids them outside in the yerd. I think I will buy my wife a pair of men's socks to try out. We hike at least once a week in the summer and wool is wonderful at keeping cold feet dry, wet feet warm, hot feet cool and skin from blisters.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
I purchased seven pairs of these socks prior to deploying to Iraq. From 18 degrees and snow coming down sideways in November 2010 at Ft Lewis, to 130 degree and broiling sun last July, these socks kept my feet comfortable and blister free. Despite being worn daily, there is no noticable wear and they are as intact as when I purchased them. The running socks are great also. I vote with my dollars, I am buying more.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
I own several pairs of SmartWool that have lasted for years and years.
Has anyone noticed the quality of the socks has gone downhill in the recent years? The fabric doesn't feel as dense and they feel way too stretchy and thin. I could not justify paying that much for lower quality socks. I guess I'll keep wearing my old ones for backpacking and day hikes. They are oldies but still goodies.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
There are better buys at this price point. THe socks shrunk considerably after the first wash so I highly recommend buying a larger size. I have other wool socks that have far outperformed these socks especially in size/shape retention and wear. The one great feature about these wool socks is comfort.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
These socks are amazingly comfortable, good at wicking moisture, and long lasting. They will eventually wear out as my first pair recently have started to tear at the toes but I have 7 pairs and wear them from fall until Spring washing weekly and they lasted two years.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
been buying these socks for many years (since 98), primarily for long backpacking trips in the Smokies and Pisgah in NC. Always loved them, but i have been quite unhappy with the socks i have recieved in the past 2 years. I moved to OR recently and good socks are very important here...its much colder here, and it is always damp/raining. I think this climate really exposed the Smartwool Hikers' flaws to me. They have gotten cheaper in my opinion, they are a not nearly as "tight" as they use to be, and they slide down your leg even in light walking. I feel like they have goten a tad bit shorter over the years, covering less of your calf but i cant confirm this. As this point, there are much better socks out there at & below this extremely high price point (a few of Carharts new designs come to mind). I hope your listening Smartwool, we cool-climate people want longer mid-weight hiking socks with more holding power (spandex?)...give us what we deserve.

Comments about SmartWool Hiking Socks:
I've been doing day hikes and have worn them on the town and they have performed very well. They stay in place and don't rub my feet raw. My old "wool" socks were like wearing sand paper but these feel like bunny slippers. The cushioning is just right I don't feel like I'm stuffing my foot into my boots while wearing them. After a 4 mile hike in the rain, no less, my fet were warm and dry. A great product from a great company.
