The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Velox Rim Tape:
I've tried many different rim tapes/strips on many different wheelsets. The only one that has never failed me is Velox. I won't use anything else now.
Don't be tempted by the cheaper ones, or lighter ones, or thinner ones (which can make tire mounting slightly easier). Stick with the more reliable Velox rim tape and avoid unnecessary flats.

Comments about Velox Rim Tape:
Why mess with any other product when, for about $4, you can have the product that has been at the top of the industry since the beginning of modern competitive cycling?
I'd use another product if there were any problem with Velox, but why fix something that ain't broke? Velox is flawless, so why buy anything else?
No other rim-strip out there has been used as much, by as many cyclists, with as few problems to it's name. Buy what you like, but I (along with many others) will stick with good ole Velox. There's no reason to buy anything else.

Comments about Velox Rim Tape:
I've used this rim tape for years on various wheel and tire combinations with great success, but it failed miserably when used with Easton EA70 wheels and Conti GP4000 tires. The Conti's are very difficult to mount on these wheels, and the thickness of the tape exacerbates the problem (and yes, I finish mounting the tire at the valve stem to avoid the double thickness of the tape). I have also had a lot of flats because of the rim tape failing to cover the spoke holes properly or squirming out of place on a warm or hot rim during tire mounting. The holes in the Easton wheels are pretty large, and after the tape dimples from the tire pressure or squirms to one side, a sharp metal edge can be exposed which flats the tube. REI sells the narrow (10 mm) and the wide (19 mm) for road applications. The narrow is too narrow for Eastons; it looks like it is okay when you install it, but the spoke holes are about 8.5 mm, leaving too little tape to grip the sides around the hole. The 19 mm may be too wide for the rim valley and it's walls, and may further complicate tire mounting. Other vendors do list a 17 mm width, which may work the best in this application. Bottom line, this stuff is good, but not a universal panacea. I will be trying an alternative product with these wheels, which I hope will protect the tube and make tire mounting a little easier.

Comments about Velox Rim Tape:
Ordered this to fix up an old huffy road bike-a 512st. Seems to be quality stuff but I didn't end up using it since the original wheels had some quality rubber strips that were still in good shape. It is a good thing too since I didn't order enough to do 4 tires due to the lack of a good description of the product.
REI said they will fix this to prevent confusion in the future. You get 1 roll to do 1 tire with.I ordered 2 b/c i wasn't sure and figured I would be able to do at least one bike.

Comments about Velox Rim Tape:
I got the wide rim tape for a 700x23 tire/wheel.
First of all i thought I was only getting 1 role of rim tape and it showed up in a box of 12 (I think, I can't remember now).
sticks well
works well
Most flats are just accident prone any how, the rim tape is just a little added protection and this does its job.
why pay more?

Comments about Velox Rim Tape:
I can't say anything about the quality of the tape once it's installed, however the tape I bought couldn't even stick to itself much less the rim. Because of the lack of adhesion I was unable to use the tape, it wouldn't stay in place long enough to get a tire on.
