Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
I've found these shoes to be great for everything so far. I've havent been climbing long but I've been climbing a lot in these shoes in the last three months. They smear great, work great in cracks and even though they are fairly soft they edge really well too. I have been using them on climbs in the 5.9 to 10+,11- range and my ability is whats keeping me from climbing harder, the shoes definately have more in them. They are not painfull like some of the other shoes. I usually wear a 42.5 to 43 and I went down to a 41 in these, they will stretch so make sure you they are really snug out of the box. I have a narrow foot and the lacing system on these shoes lets me get them super snug and secure feeling. I think the Mythos will fit anyone, and they are an excellent all around shoe.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
Overall the shoe is great but I would warn people that since it's leather it will stretch. I didn't realize how much it would stretch so if I crank real hard on a heel hook my foot moves in the shoe a little. Definetely buy this shoe either a full size or a size and a half small, it will stretch alot.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
Some hardcore climbers believe that shoes need to hurt in order to perform well. This is not the case. You can only go as far as your feet will take you. I remember looking back on trying on my first pair of rock shoes. [...]Whether you're leading a 5.10+ overhang, bouldering, or doing multi-pitch/all day climbs, these shoes are excellent. The laces are easily adjustable, and the fit has just the right amount "of a snug" feeling. The craftsmanship is also excellent the stitching and sole are far superior to the previous pair of 5.10 Spires I owned. I must mention that my foot tends to run a little wide, so finding the right rock shoe is critical.Bottom Line: If you look around on an average climbing day you'll notice most people are wearing these shoes, it's no coincidence.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
I climb 5 times a week and I wear these shoes for everything. They are great, I have nothing bad to say about them except that they stretch out a lot, which isn't bad, you just have to size them right. I wear a 12 in street shoes and my first pair of mythos were 11's and they stretched to be like street shoes on me. My next pair I got were size 10.5 and they fit perfect, favorite shoe by far. Great for cracks, overhangs, smearing, and slab. Not awesome for bouldering, but they will work. They are just a little too "unaggressive" for bouldering... in my opinion. All in all, great buy.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
I climbed frequently as an adolescent but then gave it up for literally twenty years. I bought these shoes when I joined a rock gym last month, and I've used them exclusively indoors. I chose them after reading multiple descriptions of their performance, comfort, and versatility. They have more than met my expectations.
Be aware that they'll stretch out a bit. I wear a 10.5 men's shoe, and I was on the fence between buying 9 or 9.5 Mythos shoes. I ultimately chose the 9's, and they've since stretched considerably. They're now snug but quite comfortable. It clearly would have been a mistake to get the 9.5's even though the 9's were borderline painful when I first tried them on.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
GREAT all around shoe! lots of people wear shoes that are so tight and uncomfortable that they take them off between climbs, not the case here, can wear it all day with no discomfort at all (but dont trek between crags with them, bad for the rubber!). They do stretch out a half size to a full size after a month or so of good use. Been using mine 2-3 times a week for a full year, indoor and out, and still going strong. Best thing is, when they start to wear out, I can just get them resoled for cheap and keep the best shoe ever!

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
The mythos is a really nice all-purpose rock shoe. I've used them for bouldering indoors and sport & trad climbing outdoors, and they perform well in all venues. My experience is that you will want to size these down -- maybe a full size. They will streach out! The construction is very solid, after a full year of use they are, for the most part, in good shape. The lacing set-up is very good, and I've been able to keep them snug from heel to toe even with the streach.

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
Used these for almost two years with almost all climbing types (indoor, sport, bouldering, multi-pitch). Definitely the most comfortable shoes ever. I Generally wear size 9.5 with climbing shoes but these shoes feel great on an 8.5 as they stretch a whole lot. My primary type of climbing is indoor but i generally go outdoor climbing every two months. That's where they really shine! I've used them with limestone, granite and sandstone and they grip extremely well with all types of rock including indoor gyms. These shoes have really helped me progress from 5.8 when I started climbing to 5.11a and will definitely buy them again!

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
These were my first pair of climbing shoes, and two pairs later, still are. the only down side to this shoe is that the Vibram rubber on the outsoles seems to wear down quickly. Otherwise this is a great shoe for beginners because of the relatively neutral last and all around performance. Great for cracks and smearing, but not good for micro edging or steep climbs. I have only used them indoors a couple times and they seem to work decently well, but not as well as others I have tried(Like my friends Five Ten Moccasyms). The lacing system that they have allows you to get a perfect fit around the heel while still fitting snugly in the forefoot and toes. These shoes stretch quite a bit so by smaller than you normally would. My friends who have owned a pair as well as other shoes suggest getting them a half size smaller than your normal climbing shoe size. I would recommend these shoes to any beginner to moderate level climber, but more advanced climbers may want a more aggresive shoe. La Sportiva is generally more expensive than other company's, but these were worth the money. Personally I would by another pair but I would like something more durable and better for edging

Comments about La Sportiva Mythos Rock Shoes:
First pair I bought, the rubber flopped out in 6 months of intense climbing. Loved them so much i still bought them again and have had no problems with my second pair for coming up on a year. I think i had a fluke pair the first time because nobody else seems to have that problem. Most amazing shoe you could ever put on. You would not believe how high of a performance shoe this is for having such an unagressive looking shape!
