by fromI finally found it! This saw is perfect for both back country and car camping. This sturdy little saw can easily cut through a 6" log but can still fold into a backpack safe unit. I looked everywhere for such a saw and was delighted to finally find it [...]

by from15 Years and still cutting! I purchase my saw back at EMS in NH at least 15 years ago. Granted, it isn't used every day, but I was just now looking to replace the blade. This saw rocks! Folds up to nothing, good to have in the vehicle, for hiking, trail work, and it even goes on our annual Christmas Tree harvest!

by fromA real workhorse of a saw Used this saw to cut 4- 6 to 8 inch thick logs (pine, birch) in the Adirondacks while there for a week. It made quick work of them for further splitting. The fold up/storage of the saw seemed a bit awkward or counter intuitive to me; and the recommended hand grip placement seemed uncomfortable. It has been a very good tool in the pack despite those drawbacks.

by fromdecent saw I purchaced the 15" saw and according to my balance scale I get 303.5 grams which calculates to 11.7oz not 15oz. This 2oz more than the sawvivor. I have not used the sawvior saw but I do like the design and the weight. The Swen is cheaper and the replacement blades are half the cost. What I do not like about the swen saw is the handle grip. The first tooth on the blade is to close to my hand and could easily cut it if I am not carful. That is why I gave it a 4 star and not 5. A grinder would take care of that. The edges are a little sharp and I took a file and some sandpaper to them. You do need to be carefull you do not take to much or you will ruin the saw. It is still a little sharp. I have tried different places to pack it and it ended up in my pole bag. I also added a washer on the wingnut. Putting it together and taking it down is not that much trouble, but there is a learning curve. Summary it is a little rough around the edges, but lightweight and durable.

by fromGets the Job Done This saw had no trouble cutting down 2in trees. It ate them up in less than a minute. Very sharp, seems rugged, but the grip isn't the most comfortable. For the compactness, the capabilities are very high.

by fromExcellent camp saw Bought one of these for my brother quite a few years ago and just recently picked one up for myself. Took it on a weekend camping trip and used it to make short work of our found firewood! Perhaps not the lightest tool around, but lighter than a hatchet, and far less dangerous when you're getting tired (no errant swings to sever your leg or something). Folds up nice, neat, and safe, and, from what my brother and others have said, remains sharp for quite a long time, even with minor rust spots along the blade. The Sven Saw is (relatively) light and reliable and I'm not sure why I waited so long to buy my own.
