Comments about Sven Folding Saw - 21'':
Very light, minimal pressure/effort is required to cut quickly. I've tried several 'pocket' camping/survival saws, including folding saws, pocket chain saws, wire saws, and so far this is my favorite. I consider it superior because of how little energy it takes to get it to cut well. The pocket chainsaws cut good, but man are you burnt out after a 6" log... not good to get burnt out in the back country. My only concern would be changing the blade... it is held into the silver arm by a friction/roll pin... might be a pain to change. Will be buying the 15" as well.

Absolutely love this saw. Easy to use, lightweight, etc. Unfortunately I lost mine on the last trip but I have order a new one. This time I'm getting the 15in blade instead. A great tool!

I used this product while car camping. It's lightweight, doesn't need a sheath and is fairly easy to deploy. It cuts wood very quickly.
The problem for me was that it wasn't nearly stiff enough. It tends to track to the side and the frame began bending on me. I am a big guy, 6'3" 280 pounds and I put a fair amount of force on the saw, so that might be part of it. I am returning my sven saw and trying something else. To bad, there was a lot of good stuff to say about it.
I would recommend this to people who aren't "clydesdales"

My saw is now 25 years old so saying it is easy to lose shouldn't be the case but, I frequently have "almost" left it behind. I have used other saws on several occassions because of being a member in a large group. Though some saws are lighter or may cut larger diameter wood I wouldn't trade saws with them. Overall this saw is the easiest and safest to use I have found yet.

I love this saw. It has made it so much easier to make a decent fire wherever I go. It also fits very nicely to the side of my pack. Be careful not to bend the blade which can happen.

I've had one of these for over 10 years (with the original blade intact) and it still works great. I even used it to cut up trees in my yard after hurricane Ivan. I wish everthing I bought worked this well and lasted this long. I never go camping without it.

Anytime there's a chance to have a campfire, the 21-inch Sven saw will be in my backpack. (Unless I can get someone else to carry it for me!) I've had it along on one trip so far and truthfully I didn't get to use it much because everyone else was trying it out.
It only weighs 1 pound and easily cuts downed timber too big to break (5-8 inch diameter.) It stores well - no extra pieces. Be careful not to over tighten the wing nut - it will bend the blade. It is extremely sharp and will easily tear through nylon and flesh.
The simplicity of design and quality of materials for this saw indicate to me that taking minimal care of it will provide me with a useful tool for a long time to come.

Comments about Sven Folding Saw - 21'':
I just spent all week on the Allagash and we had three of these saws floating around, and it was a godsend. We sent our little cousins (10 and 11 years old) out into the woods to cut us down a dead tree, and then we'd lug it out and cut it up into firewood. This saw made short work of it every single night, and even the older blades still burned right through everything we needed. If building a fire is on the top of your list, do yourself a favor and snag one of these over something like the Gerber folding saw, which we also had and stayed in the bottom of a bag the entire week.

Worth every penny, and every ounce. I take mine backpacking. Slides into a side compartment with ease, and weighs only a pound. Handles 6-8 " logs with little difficulty. My wife has cut up enough wood for several fires as well, and says she has no problems using it. Best option for a pack saw.
