Functional comfort for all day in the mountains!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket was ideal for recreating in cold and snowy condtions. I was able to take it multiple times downhill skiing and snowshoeing this winter through a variety of conditions. I found it to be great at keeping me warm with the insulation that is built into the jacket while still being lightweight for winter. It moves freely and has plenty of zippers to handle body temperature well. Some of my favorite features are the coiled zipper ends which will help with the durability of the zippers over time. I also appreciate that a couple of the pockets have a soft fleece lining which is nice to have when you're out in changing weather conditions. If you're looking for a great jacket for winter activities I would definitely recommend this jacket! I think it is best for colder conditions (tested in down to -5 degree with wind chill) but not as ideal for spring skiing or warmer days. I look forward to enjoying this jacket for many seasons to come as Outdoor Research always seems to make high quality gear that lasts! Outdoor Research gave me this free product to try.

Cute, high quality, and warm!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this jacket! I don't normally go for lighter colors but this is a unique creamy ivory and earthy khaki and honestly very cute. The pattern is unique too, and makes it easy to spot on the mountain when you're in a group. I got many compliments from friends and strangers! Especially cute with the matching pants. This is an insulated jacket so it has extra padding around the back/chest area. It's perfect for the colder days on the mountain, I wore it many days ranging from 30 to -5 degrees! Kept me so warm but also was breezy with the huge vents whenever I needed to cool down after a hike or tiring run. There are many little touches that made it special! For example, the top of the hood is reinforced so that it stays flat when not being used, keeping out all the extra snow. I also loved the cinched cord around the bottom of the jacket to tighten it in (seems to be the trend nowadays). And many many pockets for your phone, keys, snacks, cards etc. I don't know how the outside pockets were designed but even when I left them unzipped my cards/phone never fell out (thank goodness). Overall a great addition to my riding gear and look forward to wearing it again next season! The only downside to this jacket is that since it is insulated, it's not as versatile for backcountry/hot days unless you're someone who will always run cold. It packs down pretty well but not as tightly as a shell would. I also don't know how waterproof it is but I never got wet even after several powdery tumbles. Sizing was perfect for me, as I like a baggier fit for all of my layers underneath. I got a M - for reference, I'm size 2 / 25 / S / 120lbs in case that's helpful.
