Sturdy Construction for a Consistent Grind
I have been using this coffee grinder for a couple weeks now as part of my daily coffee routine at home, as well as on the go. Given the price, I am impressed with the quality of the construction. It feels good to use and sturdy with the metal construction. I would not consider taking this backpacking given the weight, but it would be excellent as a car camping accessory. Coming from an electric blade coffee grinder, the ceramic conical grinder in this product is more than sufficient at providing a reliable and consistent size distribution for my standards. Initially, I did miss the dot indicators on the underside of the grinder that indicate the direction of coarser or finer grind sizes. It would have been nice if the directions were a bit more clear, but I am certain that would not be an issue for anyone who has used a similar grinder in the past.

Consider your needs and options first
On the plus side, it's lightweight and the handle is ergonomic. I've got a high end ($250) hand grinder at home but didn't want to take it with me, so I decided to get a cheap one for travel. I intended to use it with Aeropress and that was my first big error. This is NOT suitable for Aeropress. It only has 5 grind settings and the finest is coarser than I'd use for French press. So it's not suitable for pour-overs either. It never occurred to me that the finest setting could be this coarse. Second, it takes 3 times as long as my 1ZPresso to grind the same amount of beans. And that's comparing it to the 1ZPresso at the Aeropress setting. It made me appreciate investing in the 1ZPresso. And it made me realize that pre-ground beans is the way to go when traveling. Summary, if you are a coffee nerd don't bother, just use a high end grinder or opt for pre-ground. And if you're not a coffee nerd, this might suit your needs BUT think about this: if you're not a coffee nerd, why would you bother with a hand grinder at all?
