After setting up the tent and evaluating it in my living room I’m going to return it. It’s probably a serviceable tent for backpacking but not what I expected for the price. First off the weight is NOT accurate, packaged weight is 4lbs 4oz which is 12oz heavier than advertised and that’s without a footprint that costs $100 and is advertised to weigh another 8-9oz. So ad at least 20oz to your expectations. Secondly, the floor is very thin, slippery, and stretchy, it seems likely to snag on anything pointy and rip. The vestibules are very small and the little triangle corners seem likely a gimmick to not look like a boring rectangle. Takes extra stakes to make them work so I’d rather not have them there.
This tent has seen some action since purchasing earlier this year! It’s been to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with warm sandy surroundings, to high altitude Wyoming where it was situated amongst a gorgeous alpine landscape, and even endured some surprise fall weather that delivered over a foot of heavy wet snow! While I would never purposely bring this tent into such wintery conditions, and it did require lots of overnight tent shaking to keep the snow from piling onto it, overall it was a trooper in keeping us sheltered until the morning and a hike out. During the most recent trip it held three adults with our packs at the end of our sleeping pads and our boots and misc items in the extra little cubby areas. It was cozy but very doable for all three of us to stay comfy within this shelter. Overall, this tent is a gem in my opinion! Super easy set-up, within 5 minutes with two of us running that show. Paired it with some new tent stakes, just my pref, and a Tyvek ground cover that was cheap and lightweight. Just know what you’re getting and set your expectations accordingly….it’s a lightweight tent, and I think all lightweight tents need extra TLC at times, snowstorm not withstanding! Experiencing lots of love for this tent and highly recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tent works great; simple and fast set up. 2 adults and a 6yr old. Sleeps great head to foot. Handles condensation well in 25-29degree nights. Also great size for an air mattress when car camping, yet light enough for the longer backpacking/hunt trip.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tent is bomber! Super waterproof. Super lightweight. Holds two people and a dog and stuff easily. Will hold 3 people but will be cramped.
