Wonderful daily drivers
My first North Face shoe, so it was a bit of a gamble, but I can confidently say after 4 continents in 4 months these shoes are an amazing daily driver. They've covered hundreds of KMs, been through long work and travel days, and have held up amazing. I like that they're subtle (minus the toe logo) and sneaker styled, but are rugged and capable. Great partnerships with Cordura and Vibram. If they had my size in stock, I'd buy a backup pair.
The North Face delivered
I bought this for everyday because I like wearing something that's capable for when I inevitably end up outside of the city. The outsole is portably overkill but it's nice to have and it definitely delivers. I was surprised how easily the Cordura stained but now it looks worn and the fabric is so far undamaged. I was also surprised how flexing the shoe is given it's inspired by approach shoes and I personally like a stiff shoe. I generally don't like the direction The North Face is headed but this is a solid show that's stylish in a more simple way than much of there other new offerings.
I want another pair
Great fit, super durable, I wear them everywhere. Definitely order a half size bigger like other comments suggests
Don't buy
Both left and right shoe started ripping after only 3 weeks of use.
Never buy it again
Has deffects
Horribly uncomfortable shoes, not to TNF norms
I've been wearing TNF shoes for decades and almost always found them comfortable to very comfortable. These shoes by contrast are awful. The tread/sole on these are stiff and plasticky feeling when walking, with odd flex to them, which is the start of a harsh walking/wear experience. The midsole is very thin and barely cushioning or anything resembling reasonably supportive, which coupled with a lousy, thin insole with no arch support, offers very little overall support for vigorous walking, let alone if you're standing on a hard surface for anything more than a couple of minutes. As a heel striker and tall, but not heavy guy, I can feel every step harshly in these. I also found that the design of the heel counter and ankle area uncomfortable, with notable heel slip - even when snuggly tied - that rubbed the back of my foot nearly raw. I even tried swapping in different, more cushioned insoles and these shoes were still pretty awful. These might work for some, if you're very small, light, slim- and flat-footed, but wouldn't recommend them for most people, esp. those with medium to high arches and/or high-volume feet. They also run a half-size smaller than I'm used to with other TNF shoes, so beware of that when buying.
Shoe is recommended and I would buy again.
Overall the comfort of these shoes is great. They seem to be a nice around town shoe with comfort and support. I did need a break in period on the heels. The backs of my feet were very sore after the first weeks use, but since then they have been very comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good shoe to get you around town, or for easy hikes.
Sturdy Knockers for Around Town
Sturdy well-built shoe that provides good support. These are my new daily drivers while being active around the house and running errands in my truck and on my motorcycle. I had a pair of North Face shoes previously that I liked so well they inspired me to shop for another pair of North Face shoes again. Glad I did.
Tough and Cool
I love the materials used in this shoe...Vibram and Cordura, both great outdoor gear materials. The Clyffe shoes are comfortable and kind of retro looking but unique as well. I've worn them on trail, around town walks and casual to the market, with jeans and with chinos.
Casual yet adventurous. Yes I'd buy these again.
Solid shoe. Comfortable with a stiff Vibram sole but in a good way. I get lots of compliments. Casual yet adventurous. Seems to be on the smaller size. I have lots of TNF shoes and some are 10, some 10.5. I probably should be in an 11.
