Surprise! This stuff works
Must admit I was highly skeptical when a friend pulled this out of their pack while hiking in the bug-crazy early-Summer woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Many essential.oil mixtures are basically feeble against the attacks of the U.P.'s notorious stable flies and ravenous mosquitoes. But this sruff works! Still highly recommend wearing a head net to keep the swarms from flying up one's nose, but where applied on exposed hands and lower legs didn't suffer a bite on the whole hike. Requires re-application after a few active hours but that's not a drawback. Dutifully impressed - highly recommended.

Michigan backpacking trip in mid May. This repellent smells nice. It worked to keep the bugs, mosquitos, flies and gnats away on the warm (80+ degrees) trip. it wasn't sticky or oily. No worry about the bad ingredients!

This non toxic cream works great for mosquitoes and chiggers. If you miss a spot or forget to apply it, it also soothes the itch!
