Sleek & Durable Shade Hat
Hiking along the Cape Scott trail on Vancouver Island in the pouring rain. Exploring Kalalula Beach in Hawaii in the sun. It’s sleek enough that you can wear it into the city, but rugged enough that you can wear it out in the elements. The draw string is super comfy and perfect for when you're caught in a particularly windy storm, or if you’ve decided to go surfing with it and need to keep it attached to yourself after falling in. After wearing this hat maybe over 100 times… it has started to delaminate - but I think that’s to be expected with how much I’ve used it. I’ve also put it through the wash more times than I can count - which might have done it.
Unwashable, white one is too bright, and it’s big.
I bought the white version, because it is soo cute. I really like the style of the rim and the coverage. But the sunlight gets refracted through the material and I have to wear sunglasses with it. Also, it says it cannot be washed even though it is 100% polyester. My first use of it was a trip to VT and it got covered in pollen. So now the rim is a dingy yellow color. I don’t know how to clean it. I got the large size to accommodate my big hair, but it’s too big. I would have exchanged it, if it hadn’t gotten ‘pollenated’. I really wanted to love this hat. Any cleaning advice is helpful.

Not great-white hat turns yellow with sun exposure
I do like this as a sunhat, its lightweight and provides good coverage however, I've been wearing the white one since April and the brim part has sort of turned yellow? When I first got it, it was all bright white but its almost like the sun has changed the color, I did a little research and realized that prolonged sun exposure can break down fibers and weaken them, causing them to yellow... so designing a sunhat in white might not be the best idea. I wish I had gotten a different color...
Hello Charlotte, we're sorry to hear that the Aerios Shade Hat brim has become yellow with the sun exposure. We can see that you have already submitted a Product Service Form for our team to take a better look at it. They will be in touch with you shortly.
Lightweight and packable
I bought this for a canoeing trip and it worked great. It kept the sun out of my eyes (I always wear sunglasses too) and the bugs away for the most part. It handled rain, being tucked under my rain hood, riding a power boat and hiking /portaging several miles. It also got crammed into dry bags and came out ready to go again. I like how light weight it feels. I still find it warm when it gets really hot out, but I am more willing to wear it than heavier sun hats. However my sister (who was considering buying one after our trip) told me it isn’t UPF rated which gives me pause for a sun hat. That said I didn’t get burned at all on our trip (of course also wore sunscreen).
Average
I feel like I run into the same problems with sun hats, they just don't fit my head properly. I do like how lightweight the hat is and it does do it's job, but it rides up on my head sometimes and I have to pull it back down. Also the string is pretty uncomfortable against the neck, maybe having it looser might help with the comfortability.
Hi there. Thanks for your feedback on the Aerios Shade Hat. We are sorry to hear it does not fit properly and we appreciate your comments about the chin cord. We will pass your comments to our team.
Not adjustable
The hat is not adjustable. The small size hangs down over my ears and eyes making me hot and uncomfortable and making it difficult to see. And there is no ventilation whatsoever making it even hotter to wear. Also no SPF rating. It doesn't work at all. This is shockingly bad design for this price. I am returning it. Do not buy.

Great at first but turned yellow after few uses
Other reviewers are right about white version turning yellow. I also turned yellow after 2 uses. I no longer enjoy wearing this because of it. Very expensive for a hat that looked good only for first time use.
Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Aerios Shade Hat. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with it and that it did not suit your needs. We will pass your comments to our team.
great weight and sun protection
Needed a new shade hat and I like the compress ability and coverage this offers. It fit my noggin which was the first need. lets see if it can last 18 years like my previous cotton shade hat.
Lightweight, comfy hat
I initially bought this hat with its primary purpose of using with a bug net for when at camp. It is very lightweight and packs very well. I just returned from a weekend trip on the sunshine coast, BC and had it stuffed in my pack with my gear, strapped to the front and generally mishandled and it has retained its shape. I purchased the green colourway and it blocked the sun from my face as intended, it was breathable which was fantastic in the 30C heat. It's not the most flattering of hats and isn't in my main rotation but for camp use and keeping bugs away from my face when paired with a net, it does the job. My main gripe is the chin cord is annoying but that is not due to function, just personal preference (not used to having one).
Nice style
I just received this hat. I like that it is super light weight and that the brim is not to large. That said, the brim did arrive quite wonky and can't be adjusted. Wishing it had more of a wire-like edge that could be shaped. I am letting it sit flat for a while and it seems to be sorting itself out. Wondering how the brim will withstand being jammed into a backpack (Will it always come out of the pack misshapen?). I am on the fence about keeping this hat and might return it and wait to see if it comes in a bright colour like orange.
