[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is amazing! Wore it on my trip to Iceland and paired with their fleece underneath, it kept me warm and dry in the elements Iceland had to offer!!
This jacket is much better than the flimsy rain shells from other brands at REI which cost twice as much. The shell is slightly thicker and has some warmth. The size seems a little bigger than other brands. I'm 6'2" and could have worn a medium but got the large since I want some space for a fleece layer while hiking. The fabric crinkles like canvas though when you move. It feels like the fabric used to make sails on boats. I got the color Red, which nicely stands out in my landscape photos. 50 degree weather- just wear a heavier shirt under it. 40 degree weather, wear a fleece and base layer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice jacket, completely water resistant. The size is slightly big, bought one size smaller, and fits well.
After being disappointed with and returning rain jackets from a couple other well known outdoor apparel companies, I decided to order the Men's Hikebound Rain Jacket from Columbia. It turned out the sizing guide was right on the money for my 6'5",190 lb body. It recommended a Standard Large size, but I was skeptical the sleeve length wouldn't be long enough which the size guide didn't address, so I ordered the XL to be sure. The XL was too big in both the body and the sleeve length, even for my long arms. My advice is go with the sizing guide that lets you put in your height and weight. Very pleased with the fit and quality and recommend.
I haven't worn the Hikebound (size L) in heavy rain but I've worn it a few times in the wet and it performed as expected. I'm 6'2" with long arms and the sleeve length works for me. There is room to layer a fleece or sweatshirt underneath without being too baggy. Columbia generally fits me and this is the best yet. Glad I didn't wait for it to go on sale. It's really come in handy this spring.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is of the highest quality, stylish and useful waterproof rain jacket I've ever had. Its workmanship is second to none. The look and utility are awesome. Zippered and waterproof pockets including a breast pocket are essential, especially for carrying around things like keys, and a cell phone. It's got a mesh inside to wick away sweat in the summer, but you can also layer under it in the winter to keep warm and dry. Columbia is one of the top brands in the industry and you cannot go wrong with this jacket. In fact, you will love it! PS. I don't work for Columbia, nor do I have any financial or other ties to them!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my husband to golf in, and he loves it! Enough room to swing and stay dry!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Columbia rain jacket. Great quality! I wouldn't buy anything else!
Great appearance, great bright teal color, comfortable, well made, waterproof and windproof protection, roomy enough to wear an underlayer on cooler days, functional with style.
Really nice jacket, excellent fit and waterproofing. The material is super soft and the mesh liner is such a plus. The cons: I'm about 5'6" and 145 pounds, typically a S coat and M-L t-shirts, and according to this size chart, my chest of 36 is perfectly in this range. HOWEVER, upon arrival, it is laughably big. I really wanted to like the jacket, but I will likely have to size down and purchase a kids XL, which is also laughable. I wish Columbia made XS, or clearly stated somewhere that the length of sleeves and torso would be this long!!
