I didn't really think I needed another backpack... Until I got this one. It's incredibly functional! I opted to test it out on a trip to Europe and it has exceeded ALL expectations. -It's comfortable and durable--both stitching, attachment points, and zippers are quality and will withstand a lot of abuse. -Tons of pockets, but they are well designed and functional instead of pockets for the sake of pockets. -Laptop sleeve provides ample cushioning and eliminates the need for an extra sleeve/protective case. -The cushioning on the back and shoulders is great. It fits me comfortably (I'm 5'2") and yet my husband keeps stealing it and it adjusts just fine to a 6'2" guy. -The exterior is stain-resistant & easy to clean, perfect for airports. -Bonus points, I also used it for a day hike today! While I'd prefer a hip belt for longer hikes, it is certainly versatile for town and trails. This is definitely my new go-to bag!
Very thoughtful design on this backpack. I'm 5'3" and the size does not overwhelm my torso either. Love the zipper pulls, makes it easy to open and close the backpack and all the pockets. Ample pockets for phone, headphones, laptop, tablet, water bottle, small item pockets inside and on the top of the backpack lid too. I like that the inside is not black as well, makes it easier to see whats where. I definitely plan to use this as my primary carry on when traveling from now on.
This has become my go-to travel backpack for just about every trip. It fits a ton of clothing and gear, is super comfortable to wear through airports, fits under every airplane seat that doesn't have an obstruction, goes into every single overhead bin, and has an amazing number of convenient pockets - even a tiny one on the strap for lip balm or earbuds. I tested it out while traveling for a marathon, and was successfully able to fit: 2 pairs of leggings, 2 shirts, 2 sports bras, 1 pair of sneakers, 2 pairs of socks, my Kindle, my fuel, and my over-the-ear headphones. Bonus: the pocket on the top is convenient for storing liquids/gels that may have to come out for airport screening. Highly recommend this for all travel and hiking needs. :)
Gregory packs are always good quality and I have a backpacking pack from this brand that I love. I want to love this one too but the shoulder straps too bulky for a petite frame and is not comfortable to wear. I tried adjusting but couldn’t find a setting that worked. The straps rub badly on my neck to the point that this pack is unwearable, even when I adjusted the chest strap to a looser setting and lengthened the shoulder straps. Overall the straps seem like they should be on a very large overnight pack, not a small laptop pack. It does have great little pockets, water storage on side and laptop sleeve, so everything else with this pack is functional, it’s just not wearable for me. I think a larger frame would have no issue with this pack.
This pack is, in its size class, is the best I have used. The Rhune 25 is practical for use in both everyday life and out in the wild. Thus far, I have been using it most frequently for work daily to carry my laptop and other items to and from the office. I have also used it for travel, both domestically and internationally. I have used it at the gym to hold weight for cardio training and hiking outdoors. The Rhune 25 seems to have just the right amount of pockets, pouches and zippers both inside and out. The zipper loops on the outside are extremely efficient for opening pouches, especially when in a rush or wearing gloves. The location of the exterior pockets seem to be ideal for a variety of uses. Inside, there is ample room in the main, larger pouch. The laptop pouch is roomy and protected well. The two inside zippered pockets have ample room to keep multiple, smaller items secure and easily accessible. The carry straps are thick and comfortable with one providing a small, lengthy pocket for items such as earbuds, snack bar or drink packet. I highly recommend the Gregory Rhune 25 for everyday use and light load hikes/camping trips.
Over the past month I have put 150+ miles on this pack. I started by taking it out on some long day hikes and it quickly became my daily bicycle commuter pack. Last weekend I even used it on an overnight out-and-back backcountry trip. It's roomy enough to haul a lot of gear. However, the dividers inside the bag and the easy access pockets around the bag are very thoughtfully placed. The ability to keep everything organized is why I love it for commuting. If you're looking to be minimalist with your gear, this is a great multi-functional pack. It feels well made and durable so I'm expecting it to last for many years of adventures.
This pack has so much room for what ever your going to do, either work or a day hike. I like the padded inside for my work computer, something my last pack did not have! Did I say lots of room!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this bag as my primary work bag -- and it was great during my most recent travel trip. It fit nicely (non-bulky) under the seat in front of me on the plane with no excess straps to get caught on anything. The mesh side pocket is deep and actually held two bottles for me -- without becoming stretched out or squeezing the bottles up and out. I love the easy to access organization pockets behind the front of the bag and on the laptop/notebook specific sections. There's one on the front too AND I discovered another hidden one (to me) on the side. Love when that happens. The top bag opens all the way so I can access everything inside. There is also a pocket on the brain of the bag -- make sure to keep it at least partially zipped so small items don't slide out when you access the main compartment. Lastly (but definitely not least) the zipper to the main compartment is bomb -- so easy to open and close without getting stuck. I also appreciate the size of the grab handle at the top - it's big enough to sling over a chair and actually stay there without sliding off. I got it in the Brick Red, such an awesome color.
This backpack is versatile and stylish. I used it as my day bag when traveling in Europe because of it's low profile and modern style. The enclosures are person-facing so you feel safe riding with this on a crowded metro at rush hour. The top compartment is easily accessible and made a good place to keep things I needed secure and accessible, like my family's 5 passports and boarding tickets. The interior layout makes it easy to keep items separate and accessible. The bag material is firm so it doesn't sag or fold in on itself. Last, the different sized exterior storage areas made it so I always could find a suitable place to store what I needed.
This is a great backpack for use in an everyday office / work setting. The layout of the pockets and interior dividers showed clear intentionality of design and I found that they were incredibly intuitive to use. Very comfortable including the strap / back padding (with ventilation) The backpack is on the larger size at 25L, but was perfect as my primary non-clothing bag on a work travel trip (4 states in 3 days)
