Provides warmth but shoddy design and construction

They do provide warmth but my finger tips still would be cold. The real issue is the shoddy design and construction. Within the first few days, I ripped a hole in the gauntlet but was able to patch that with some tape. Sadly, the button mechanism is poorly designed and will eventually fail. One has failed the other feels like it is on its way. After inspecting the way the button is constructed, it would be so easy to make it robust but they cut a critical corner and the gloves are throwaway. I would not recommend anything like this from OR. In the photos you can see the little clicker button and then the other photo shows the little black plastic that is inserted to provide the click on the plastic plate. This little black piece will fall out and it is not possible to click the button.

Prevail heated gloves- bad fit

These are warranty replacements from the last version of OR heated glove- the BEST!! I patently waited all summer, fall and they finally arrive last month. What a crazy- bad fit. The fingers are super long, yet they are very narrow across the midsection.. I really wanted these heated gloves, so I ordered the large , down from extra large.( frost bite pinkies many moons ago on Liberty ridge) Still room in the extra long fingers , yet almost too tight to pull on. So little dexterity in the extra long fingers, I might as well being wearing Mittens, which Unfortunately will be my situation again this season for the colder skiing in Colorado.

Hi CG, We apologize that these gloves are not fitting like your previous pair of heated gloves. We would be happy to help you exchange them for the extra-large size, or a different glove or mitt.

Terrible Fit

I really wanted these gloves to work as the reviews for the Lucent were excellent across the board. Not sure why OR decided to attempt to fix something that wasn't broken but they did and made it worse. I've use OR gloves a lot in the past and have never had fit issues before but there are pretty much non-functional they are so tight and I didn't even attempt to put them on with my ski coat as it was obvious the gauntlets wouldn't fit over the cuff of the coat. Going back to the drawing board and trying TNF's version of a battery operated glove to see if they work any better.

Great for how I use them

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These gloves, because of how long they stay hot, can't compete with other brands for staying warmer longer. However, for someone with Reynaud's, for recovery after hand surgery, for cold hands around the house and on the Oregon Coast, they are perfect. OR does a fine job adding small but wonderful details other gloves don't have like a pull loop. I wish they gave more heat over the course of the day at the higher settings but they heat up fast, and do a fine job as promised. For that, they deserve five stars

Very warm durable gloves, strange fit

I have relied on OR heated gloves during the ski season for several years. I had to replace my OR Lucent gloves. Since that line was discontinued, I ordered the Prevail. One a positive note, I think these gloves are warmer even without the heaters turned on. My problem is the fit. The gloves are extremely narrow. I had considered sizing down and am glad I didn't. I have small narrow hands and find them difficult to put on. Additionally, the lining bunches up in the area of the little finger and requires some manipulation to get my finger in place. I am hoping the lining will compact somewhat over time so that the gloves are easier to put on. I truly can't understand what measurements were used to size these gloves. All that said, they are warm and reliable. I can't ski without them.

Stopped working after 3 days

These globes worked very well for 3 days, succeeding in keeping my hands warm on a skiing vacation with daytime highs around 10 degrees. Then on the 4th day the left gloves switch just didn't click, and and the glove has not worked since.

Great product, sad that it didn't fit

These look to be great heated gloves. Unfortunately, they did not fit my hands. I ordered XL and they were too tight across the knuckle area of my hand. Surprising since I have both Lucent Gloves and Mittens in XL and they fit fine. These gloves look to be an improvement on the Lucent. The cuff area is slightly smaller making them easier to tuck into your sleeves. Insulation seems to be as good or better. Hopefully there will be an XXL version of these gloves in the future.

So narrow not wearable

I read the reviews and even the description says these run really narrow so size up--well sizing up does not help because the length of the fingers is so long. I thought these could work for my 9 year old, but even the XS width fits great, but fingers are way too long. I also bought a size larger than normal for myself and they are unwearable--they are so tight, but fingers are way too long. I would not recommend at all unless you have extremely long slender hands.

Bad design in terms of sizing

I just got the gloves after ordering a pair for myself and my girlfriend, I ordered a medium et she ordered a small, after carefully taking our measures to make sure it would be a good fit. I was fairly confident with medium as I already have a pair of Lucent Heated gloves from OR which I like, but I bought the Prevail for the improved dexterity. The fit is way too tight around the palm yet my fingers barely reach the top of the glove. Same goes for my girlfriend where she has a hard time fitting her hand in and she the gloves are almost too long for her fingers. I'm afraid I won't be able to wear these at all they are way too tight and badly designed. I've asked other people to try them on and the same conclusions were reached... very unfortunate because these do look like a good pair of gloves built to withstand long and cold winters.

They work!

I use this item up at Mt Bachelor for snowboarding to keep my fingers toasty as I have Raynaud's (fingers go white and lose blood flow until external heat source is provided). The gloves provide good heat and are not too cumbersome with the battery and all. They charge quickly also. The heat comes from wires lining the top of the glove, so it is only top-down. I find myself pushing my fingers against the top in order to get a more all around heat.
