This Osprey hydration back pack is handy for day hikes. Size ensures there won't be packing of unnecessary items. Would like other color choices. Good quality.

Decent value, but poor zip/pouch and weight distro

Pros: - Good size for day hikes - Comes with hydration pack and is an excellent value, even at MSRP - Comfortable pack with chest and hip straps Con: - Terrible brain design where there is only one pouch and it's an internal mesh panel located on the flap after unzipping the main closure; it has a tendency to flop back when there is anything stored there - Odd weight distribution due to frame design; it has tendency to fall forward when putting the pack down, even when it is full. - The buckle for securing the hydration pack is very difficult to close

Does double duty very well

Excellent light bag that carries plenty of water and most anything you’ll need walking a trail or scaling a hill on a mountain bike. Excellent quality construction and the easy access magnetic water nozzle works seamlessly practically hands free.

Skarab 18 is the best

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Skarab 18 is the best backpack I’ve ever owned. Literally I use it for day trips, 10+ miles hikes, going to the store, walk my dog etc. I use it in Costa Rica near to the beach and my back is always dry even though the weather is warm and sometimes rainy. The fit is perfect, my back and shoulders never hurts. The bladder included is amazing. Is easy to clean and leakproof. I even use it for my dog by just pinching the end lol Things I can carry: Wallet Earphones Individual first aid kit Water bladder included Dog toys and treats Rain jacket Extra shirt and shorts. Socks Snacks If Osprey ever updates this backpack I would recommend to add loops for hiking poles and a rain cover.

Who designed this

Th side pockets on this bag would be great if they didn't have holes in the sides of them. there is only one zipper pocket, which is in a in convenient place and since it it the only secure pocket the bag sags on the top real bad. To add to all of it the water bladder pouch (when full) puts pressure on your upper back unlike any bag I've used before. I am pretty dissapointed with this, and I have used and loved osprey bags before.

I have the 22 litre

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the 22 litre version of this bag and I like it a lot better. The shoulder straps on the 22 are wider. The buckles on the hip belt on the 18 are digging in to my sides…
