Stayed warm and dry!
I had the sudden opportunity to go to Glacier National Park...in December. As I am always cold, and my feet and hands especially, I needed something comfortable and warm to hike in. Bought these the day before I left, as they felt the most comfortable to me and I was hoping they’d keep my feet warm. Success! Hiked a 4 1/2 mile hike in Glacier that was icy and snowy and these kept my feet warm and also gave me pretty great traction. They were also comfortable enough to wear all day. So far, worth the price and one of my favorite purchases. Did not need to size up-I typically wear a size 8 and the 8 fit perfectly with my thicker socks.
cute but not serious boots
These boots are not serious winter boots. I can't imagine walking any distance in them or doing real outdoor work. The material collapses around the ankle and creates weird lumps and bumps that would definitely cause pain and blisters with longer wear. And that was when they were brand new. I think with wear it would get worse. Otherwise comfortable but there's just no internal integrity to the design. Bummer to find that rei charges $8+ for return shipping so now I've paid $18 to return 2 pairs of boots. I would rather go into a store to try boots on but their stores barely carry any boot options so that's not possible. REI is my go to gear store but this whole boot situation is disappointing.
They work well
I haven't used these a lot, but they fit comfortably and aren't bulky like some other boots I've tried. While this isn't an issue for me, the part where the rubber meets the leg part of the boot, pushes inward when I'm walking or driving. It isn't enough to irritate/hurt my heel/leg but is worth noting. They keep my feet toasty and dry and they're easy to slip on and off. Generally I wear a size 8 for boots (7-7.5 for any other shoes) and they fit perfectly.
Not comfortable
Purchased these boots for my daughter. She complained about them feeling too small immediately so we returned them and bought one size larger. Those came in, she tried them on, and same complaint. So I tried them on and these are the most uncomfortable piece of footwear I have ever had on my feet. Tight on the top and no footbed. Felt so strange, like they were constructed incorrectly. My kid was 100% correct and I should have believed her. Needless to say, we retumed the 2nd pair too.
Great for professional snowshoe guide!
I bought these boots after moving up to northern WI to become a snowshoe guide and I can't describe the difference they made in my overall comfort and happiness! They are warm, soft, and incredibly lightweight. Would recommend to anyone that is spending an extended time outdoors in the winter.
So far so good
I've only had the opportunity to wear these a few times, but all of the occasions were cold and snowy. The boots kept my feet dry and extremely warm. Can't ask for more than that.
super toasty warm boots
Bought these and they kept my feet super warm and dry during the crazy cold Chicago winter last year. They are also super light weight.
Comfortable and lightweight
I haven’t worn these in snow yet but can’t wait to. They are comfortable, lightweight, and the sole has good traction. They also allow your leg to move so walking is natural. I went up a half size to accommodate thick socks. I wanted the option to wear thick socks but you may not need them with this boot. So depending on your preference for socks you could buy your shoe size.
Just okay
I bought these for Wisconsin cold winters. They looked good in the store, I brought them home and tried them on. The back part of the boot looked like it would not holding up. I had the laces tied tight and the back part of the boot was collapsing within a few minutes of having them on. I ended up taking them back. I gave them a 3 star because they seem to be warm enough but that's it.
Get these boots!
Despite the reviews that these boots fit weird, I thought they were great. The toes felt a bit tight on the first wear, but stretched out nicely and now have a glove-like fit. I wore them snowshoeing in over 24" of fresh powder, and without two pairs of socks my toes were nice and toasty.
