MakesWalking Even Better
These are Boot Laces. They can be tied into knots or bows. They make my Merrell's fit tight to my feet so they don't fall off while I'm walking. The length is wonderful--not too long and not too short ('cause I measured my old ones before buying these). The satisfaction of having full functioning boot laces is undescribeable.
Aren't worth the paper used to distribute them
I was skeptical when I bought them, and I should have listened to my gut. The ends are shrink wrap, basically the same used for electrical wiring. It says to hold a flame for 5-7 seconds, and that is too long for that. The shrink wrap doesn't shrink small and tightly enough to: A. Easily lace your shoes, especially if you have tight holes B. For the shrink wrap to even stay on the lace Stay away from this, especially if you need strong shoelace tips to lace your shoes. Nothing replaces good old shoe laces.
Not Flat!
Item description says flat, I purchased them in store knowing them not to be flat but round and that is what I needed in black but if you require flat be aware they are not!
Outer woven casing is super slick Won't stay tied
The outer casing on these is super slick and they will not stay tied. I have no idea about the durability at this point but they come untied so often that I'm constantly walking on the laces.
Great laces
You get what you pay for. I always get quality from REI, and that means down to the shoelaces. Not many places nowadays even carry the correct kind of laces for my boots or they are universal for all shoes which is not what I need. Nice selection.
A good bootlace
IMHO a bootlace is a bootlace is a bootlace, but that said, there are differences, and this is a perfectly good one, that is there's no "slippage" (of the laces loosening once tied) and it appears to be bearing up well after some hard, continuous usage.
Virtually indestructible.
A much more durable boot lace than what came on my boot (sorry *een). Made my already thoroughly broken in work boot feel nearly new again.
Great laces
These laces stay tied, the laces that came with my Zamberlans did not. i have purchased at least 8 pairs of these. There Great.
Laces work as promised
Good, strong laces. And they look good too. I was assisted in this purchase in the store in Reno, NV, which was very helpful.
Started fraying after one day
Looks like this is discontinued now but not a good option.
