REI Members get back an estimated $ 45.00 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromLove this watch! I use this watch everyday for work and working out. I love everything about this watch. It's very functional and can be used to track many different activities through the preset profiles.. I.E. running, hiking, mountaineering, etc. You can also set your own profile. The watch is very customizable to the user's preference. For instance the way the clock is displayed and second counter could be changed to a bunch of different formats to add a personal touch. As of this writing, Garmin put out a beta patch that allows your cell phone to sync with the watch using the bluetooth. For instances if someone where to text you, the watch would display the message along with an alarm to notifiy you. There are so many functions to this watch. Look up DC Rainmaker Tactix on the web and get a very indepth review.

by fromReady for War It's about time that Garmin came out with a GPS watch aimed at Military users. I'm very familiar with using the foretrex 401 during military operations, but the Tactix really sets the standard. Although slightly thicker than your average ABC watch (think Suunto or Pathfinder) it is far less bulky or obvious on your wrist than the big green brick that is the Foretrex. It also has some great military specific features like vibration alerts and a low illumination reverse display. The ability to display your MGRS and Lat Long position on the same screen is also great. Fast and stable satellite acquisition and very good battery life make this a winner in my book.

by fromPerforms well, but not w/o some flaws This is the 3rd Garmin watch I've owned, the previous being the Forerunner 405 and 310xt. I use these watches for my triathlon training. The ANT technology is awesome. I've found that the Tactix takes a little longer to pick up signals than my Forerunner 310xt. As for the battery life, I usually have to recharge once a week. There are a couple of issues I have with Garmin watches, the first being the glass. The glass on my 310xt shattered while setting up for my last race...it fell and hit the cement. As for my Tactix, after owning it less than a month, there's already a scratch on the glass. Now, if you're marketing a product for triathletes/military, you'd expect better quality. Second, sometimes when I plug the watch in to my computer, the computer doesn't recognize it, but will charge the watch. Maybe, because the watch is new to the market, some updates may improve things.
