Princeton Tec Remix LED Headlampis rated4.3333out of5by6.
Rated5out of5byfromGreat replacement! This has been a great replacement for the one that came apart. There is always a use for a light that requires a no hands-on necessary tool.

Rated2out of5byfromNot DurableI've owned this headlamp for about two years. It is very small and lightweight, so it fits on your head quite well. The beam is good too. But, it's not very durable. The side latch for the batteries has broke on several occasions. When I pop it open, it breaks, making it unusable without some creative use of duct tape or super glue. However, Princeton Tec customer service is amazing. Each time it broke, I called them and they immediately shipped me replacement parts at no charge. But, this doesn't make it a good product. I guess I could try and be more gentle, but I honestly don't want to worry about that at night in the woods when my battery dies.

Rated5out of5byfromWorks very well for me so farI've just begun use of this head light so time might tell a different story. Highest power has suffient power and appropriate beam focus to reach out a sufficient distance for any activity I do (moderate recreational camping and hiking and disaster health services) and illuminate a center weighted but moderately wide area. Lowest power has sufficient power for close activities but is low enough not to blind when reading, writing, activity around camp or for medical treatment. Rather perfect so far. I will update on durability after sufficient use.

Rated4out of5byfromUsed for Hiking!I know some reviews are very vague and don't discuss everything, so I will do my best. I purchased this in early summer strictly for hiking. I did my research and found that this headlamp is the BEST for the price (which I got on sale), and the quality. I've used this several times on night hikes and it works GREAT! Its High beam is excellent. I could probably use the low beam, but I found the High beam puts me at ease when on the trail. I could see a good long distance a head of me. The headlamp is very comfortable, and easily adjustable (both the band and the lamp). It is also very lightweight, which is one thing I was looking for in a headlamp. I wear this with and without a cap on my head; it works both ways without any problems. The battery compartment is very secure and not flimsy; it's not too hard to open/close. Since I will be thru-hiking on the PCT next year, I need durable, lightweight, comfortable, and reliable gear. I find that this headlamp is all of that. The ONLY...repeat, ONLY downside and the reason I gave this a 4 star...the High beam does NOT hold out for 28 hours! I used the High beam on 2 hikes of about 4 hours each before I had to replace the batteries. The High beam gradually became a low beam; I could still see, but didn't feel as secure and sure of my footing. I now know that I'll have to carry a couple sets of replacement batteries for my night hikes on the PCT. I don't need the best and the most expensive, but to me...this headlamp is best suited for MY needs!

Rated5out of5byfromHeadlamp for runningThis is the perfect headlamp for me. Over the last 6 years, I've had 4 others. I'm not going to say Princeton is better than Petzl. I'm not going to say a $50 model is better than a $10 model (although there is a correlation). I've had battery indicators, 8 beam options, super dupper bright beams- but don't really care. When I'm running, I'm not fiddling with my headlamp- one or two solid settings are perfect. It's light, simple, has a useful red beam (you chose either red, green, or white as your secondary beam) and solid white light. I like the red beam in the summer- I eat less mosquitos. Previous headlamps I've owned have had red lights for reading maps. This model has a bright enough red light to see the trail while running. I typically find the low setting bright enough. In the winter or on more challenging trails, I use the primary white light which also has two settings and both are alittle brighter than the red settings. I've only had the headlamp a few weeks, so can't speak to durability. The elastic headband feels high quality. I've used it in a mist, but not a downpour. The batteries are still new. But so far so good. This headlamp is exactly what I was looking for.
