Rated 5 out of 5 by from garmin 20 w/ HRM After having bad luck with the Nike Sportswatch, I decided to upgrade to the garmin 620. It is well worth the extra money as this watch has several advances in comparison. It is lighter and more compact, yet has a ton more features. The sats acquire in no time, and the bluetooth and wifi syncs are quick. Battery life is more than three times that of my previous watch. I highly recommend owning one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning: Garmin Connect is Broken You purchase a GPS watch for many functions. Maintaining accurate records, training analytics, and uploading workouts are some of the most important. Garmin is failing with fixing online to correct many key services. Since February, there has been no meaningful response to hundreds of complaints as to when they are going to correct the Garmin Connect problems. Failing to respond to customers' concerns is, in my opinion, a sign that a company has lost focus in the market or has poor leadership. Just go to Garmin Connects Facebook page to read the voice of their customers or read the blogs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very cool but glitchy am returning I replaced my 610 (had trouble getting a signal) with this and loved it for a couple of months til the recent software update. I contacted Garmin several times and they admit they are working on it. If I use autopause the pace jumps around wildly. For this large of a price tag you should not have to disable an important feature to get it to work. Thank you rei for your return policy, I may try a 220 or go back to polar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Navigate to Start function The previous review does a good job discussing the running features. I found the setup to be straightforward. So far WiFi and Bluetooth features work as promised. Pros: See previous review Cons: 1. No "Navigate to Start" function as has been provided by most Garmin GPS watches since the beginning. Not a big deal for some but for runners that travel a lot it might be important. I did use it often when running out of town. It allows me to run and enjoy the sights and not bother with memorizing unfamiliar streets. I would get halfway through the run and allow the watch to lead me home. Prior to the advent of iPhones this function was a godsend. It was also valuable on hikes following poorly marked trails. Why it was left off is a puzzle. Hopefully the function will be restored on the next update. 2. Ignore the pretty photos showing the vivid color screens. Those photos are CGI. In actuality the colors are very faint without the backlight. With the backlight it is essentially a B/W screen. As it is I don't really see in functional value in the color screens but they did look pretty. 3. The "premium" heart rate monitor strap appears to be a downgrade instead. It does include new non HR functions but at some expense. The HR module snaps on to an elastic strap which is more bulky than the previous integrated approach. Changing a battery now takes a screwdriver instead of a quarter. The previous plastic connectors for the strap have now been replaced by what appears to be a fragile piece of metal that hooks through a loop of material. I still have a spare old style strap and will see if it will register with the watch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed!! I was so excited to get this watch, then it went on its maiden voyage. This Forerunner watch lost signal over 20 times on my 6 mile run, but my free charity miles app that also keeps up the miles never had a problem losing signal. I decided to blame it on a cloudy day and took it out again for my 4 mile walk the next day with my track buddies....lost signal numerous times and was a mile and a half off and it was not a cloudy day. Took the watch out for a run 3 more times and had the same issue, lost signal but the free running apps on my phone were not having an issue. Took this back to REI and bought the Soleus 1.0 that was on clearance for $75. Been running with the Soleus and never have had a lost signal issue with the watch and running the same routes that I did with this Garmin. The Forerunner has a lot of cool features, but unfortunately they are all worthless if the watch constantly looses signal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Next generation features The Forerunner 620 is Garmin's most advanced running watch to date. As released (for the 2013 holidays) it is still somewhat in development with some features missing or not completely implemented. However, even with some issues, I love this watch. If you are a runner only or have other devices for biking, swimming, etc., this is a great watch and will get better. I really like the addition of the Running Dynamics features, especially the V02 and recovery estimators. The GPS is lightning quick to lock on (less than 15 seconds) and based on my regular courses, is very accurate. The multiple display screens can be configured to show 2, 3, or 4 measures and touch-screen works very well. Wi-Fi for workout uploads and firmware updates are quick and range is good (works from my driveway). HRM strap is comfortable and have not had any spikes or dropouts. In a nutshell, every major feature works very well. On the negatives (at release in November), biking and ANT+ scales are not supported. Though not required, footpod with firmware 2.3 is inaccurate. Bluetooth LE, required for Live Tracking, is not implemented in most Android devices and so this watch feature is not going to be possible (unless you have Android 4.3 or above).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great but plauged by bugs, bugs, bugs Replaced our FR405 and FR410 watches for two FR620:s. The heart-rate monitor is very comfortable and seems to be accurate. The watch picks up GPS signals quickly and accurately. The colour-screen is not a crisp and vivid as pictured on the web, instead the colours are pretty washed out. The bad news for this product is the huge amount of bugs that are present. Reboots, connectivity issues with bluetooth and wifi, lost work-outs, total confusion from Garmin on what software to use, connecting to your computer is a very fragile process etc, etc. To make matters worse, the WiFi one one of our watches broken within two weeks of purchase and we are now struggling with Garmin support to get a replacement watch. Bottom-line: avoid this watch. If you consider buying it, make sure you check the Garmin forums first to get a feeling of the problems you may experience (including reconfiguring your WiFi network to be able to upload workout sessions to Garmin Connect... really?!?!)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great watch if they can get the bugs out Product could not acquire satellite without having to be restarted. Satellite signal would be lost half way through run when trying to hit lap feature. Called Garmin and these bugs are supposed to be worked out soon. Returned product and the new watch appears to be OK. Garmin has admitted that both problems above are known and that they are quickly working on a fix. This is very frustrating when you are trying to do a pace/tempo run and the miles are not longer than should be.
