Patagonia Chacabuco 32L Backpack - 2012 Closeoutis rated4.4out of5by5.
Rated4out of5byfromGreat organization but...I chose this pack for the ability to hold my 17" laptop with it's GIS data base. It does that, and the slot does not go to the bottom of the pack. This is GOOD - put a little soft stuff in the bottom of the main compartment and if you slip or sit on a rock the computer is protected. Lots of slots for field notebook, pencils, GPS, and cell phone. This would be an AWESOME carry on bag. BUT the suspension is 100% book bag. There is no real framesheet, and what there is lacks anatomical shape. The shoulder straps are fluffy/bulky and poorly contoured - with too much load they cut my trapezius area. I will probably only use this for days where I need the laptop.

Rated4out of5byfromMakes a great commuter packI bought this to be my daily work backpack after I was frustrated by the low quality found in the typical brands in the commuter category. This packs quality is far and away better than the other brands I tried and broke, and the capacity is perfect for daily needs, it can even easily hold two laptops comfortably. My only complaint is that the hydration compartment doesn't reach to the bottom of the pack so it makes a kind of pocket at the bottom that folds the very bottom of the pack inward. Not a big deal but kind of awkward at times.

Rated5out of5byfromVery Good PackI am an EMT and I purchased this pack to keep my gear together which includes an AED and a large lumbar pack containing a lot of gear. I also keep a jacket in the front pocket and a water bottle in the side pocket. It's a bit tight but has worked well and makes it convenient to move between vehicles, house to vehicle, etc. and when I get to scenes I just pull the lumbar pack out of the top but I can easily take the whole pack if I suspect the AED is appropriate. I bought the bright orange color which makes it easy to keep track of in low light. I have other packs that I use for day and overnight hikes so that's not the purpose of this pack but I am confident this pack would also work well for outdoor recreation.
