Rated5out of5byfromDefinitely a great purchaseI am an extremely avid backcountry skier, so I was definitely stoked when my wife said she wanted to get into skiing. She spent one year with a lesser jacket and constantly complained about getting cold. This jacket was her Christmas present and I wanted to wait until it saw use to post the review. She LOVES the coat, in fact she wears it so often that I'm worried she's going to damage the jacket (she hasn't yet). She stayed relatively warm (for her) our entire January trip, and we experienced both heavy snow (avg. of 8" of fresh per day in Copper) and gusting winds (totally windswept runs in WP). Again, she loved the coat and kept warm, which really allowed her to enjoy her experience. She has told all her friends about her "awesome coat" and I agree with her description. Columbia has made a great product, for a not North Face price, and it does its job admirably.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat productThis coat is very versatile. I have used it as all three coats. The outer shell is perfect for times when it is just a little chilly. The inner coat works well with a little more cold weather. Put them together and you are toasty warm.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat jacket, not just for skiingJust spent two weeks in Western Europe, and with predictions for cold rain or snow, I needed something that was both wind/water resistant as well as warm. There were a lot of other nice jackets at REI but I was worried that they wouldn't be warm enough... and then I discovered their ski gear section, and spotted this lovely jacket. It seemed a bit bulky, but I saw that it was because it was two jackets in one. I loved the features, like the hoodie and the thumbhole sleeves. The little zippered pocket on the chest came in handy for stashing train tickets, too. This jacket worked out AMAZINGLY WELL. I'm always cold anyway, and I was worried about the trip, but the jacket made things A-OK. Wearing it, it didn't feel too bulky or constricting. The jacket fit well, and it kept me warm for the entire trip. We were fortunate with weather, and never encountered rain. But we definitely had freezing temps, and on our last full day, we got caught in some pretty heavy snow. The jacket held up beautifully. I just pulled up the hoodie (which kept my head and neck warm and dry), zipped up the front, and stayed completely dry and happy as a clam. Whether you want to wear this for snow sports or for traveling in the winter, you will like this jacket. It's a little sporty-looking so it might not work with a super elegant wardrobe... but for the jeans, boots, and jacket wardrobe, this was perfect!

Rated4out of5byfromNiceI really like how warm it is when the two jackets are zipped and worn together. I'm so thankful I got this in time for this recent cold weather front. Wore it out in 5 degree Fahrenheit waiting for the bus. While the legs, nose, and ears were freezing and losing feeling, my torso was nice. I also wore it walking around an indoor mall and didn't feel the need to remove the jacket. The length is perfect for me at 5'6", and it hits at the hips for me. The only negative I've noticed so far is that I might wish the zipper flap also had a velcro seal. On the one hand, I like that the velcro won't snag scarves when not in use, but I can see how it'd be helpful to keep out snow, etc.

Rated5out of5byfromWarm enough for Michigan!I really enjoy this coat, and I think it's a good value for the price. During fall I was able to wear the inner liner and stay warm. Now that winter has arrived, I am wearing the two parts together. It was 7 degrees this morning and I didn't feel cold while defrosting my car, so I call that a victory. I also like the many pockets for keys, etc. I think this coat will last me for a while!

Rated5out of5byfromI love this jacketI love the color and that I can wear the jacket with everything. The thumb holes are perfect and add extra warmth on cold nights. The inside liner is warm enough to wear on it's own and since it's a nice color, it doesn't look like you are wearing a liner. I have received several compliments on this jacket when I wear it. I have had the jacket for a year and I am just as happy with it today, as when I received it. The jacket material and zippers are durable and easy to clean. There are lots of pockets to hold everything without feeling weighted down. I received this as a gift and I am so glad I did.

Rated5out of5byfromI love this jacket!I purchased the jacket because I am always freezing! I am not really an outdoor sports enthusiast; my husband and I were just headed to So. Lake Tahoe to get some photos of the snow and I needed something warmer than what I had. This jacket actually kept me warm. At one point, I got too hot and had to take it off. That never happens!! The jacket is cute, comfortable, fits well and is most definitely warm. It has removable layers, so you can get rid of some of the bulkiness; but, the layers are great when you want to stay warm. It is a great jacket and a great value!
