    • Pack has a top zippered pocket with soft lining for delicate items such as sunglasses or your smartphone
    • Zippered front pocket offers easy access to your map or other slim items
    • StraightShot water-bottle pocket makes it easy to store and retrieve a bottle; simply rotate and lock the bottle securely in place; elastic bungee adds even more security
    • TipGrip loops cinch to secure trekking-pole tips while the elastic quick clips securely fasten the poles' shafts to the pack
    • Pulley-style compression straps let you cinch down loads for jostle-free carrying; lightweight lash points let you strap gear to to the front of the pack

Rated2out of5byfromI Really Wanted to Like It, But ............ the hip belt is terrible, at least for me. It has a perimeter metal frame that does a great job of transferring weight to the hips. However, the padding at the base of the hip belt is not sufficient to keep that perimeter frame from riding uncomfortably on your back. Imagine a thick hanger riding on your back with just a wee bit of padding between you and the metal. That's what this pack felt like for me. I really wanted to like it. EVERYTHING else about this pack is dialed in to perfection: ideal size for a long day hike, plenty of pockets for all but the most obsessive of organizers, lash points, effective compression, et al. The hip belt, though, was just not very good at being anything other than terribly uncomfortable.

Rated2out of5byfromNot a good daypack for travellingWe bought this to use as a daypack for hikes in Patagonia. We liked that it was lightweight and comfortable to wear but quickly found during the hikes that the side bottle holders and small zippered compartments on the waist band are almost impossible to access while wearing the pack. The awkward, bottom access design of the side bottle holders made removing and repacking a standard refillable bottle impossible without having to stop, remove the pack and use two hands. The small zippered compartments are also too far back on the waist band and again require the user to remove the pack to gain access properly.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat all around trail packI use this pack to hit the trails around the Columbia Gorge. I carry a 3 Liter bladder in it along with a stove, jacket, snacks and other small essentials. Even with all this, there is plenty of room to organize my gear and keep it readily accessible. Overall just a well built, well thought out pack.

Rated4out of5byfromgreat backpackGreat for day hiking. I have young kids so I have room to haul all our stuff on short outings. Plenty of adjustment for a day pack. The safety whistle on the chest clip is genius.

Rated5out of5byfromJust what I was looking forI purchased this backpack after I lost my North Face Heckler on the train one night. I have to say now that I like this backpack way more than the North Face. The padding on the back and straps make it very comfortable. The only problem I foresee is that the hip belt pockets are set farther back than I would prefer. But I can't wait to get on the trail to really see how it will do.

Rated5out of5byfromMight just be the perfect day packI was looking to replace my ~10 year old day pack that had held up well over the years with something that would also last but pack some additional features. This pack was very well thought out. It's hard to find this capacity / size bag with such good waist support to take the load off of your back and shoulders. After the first hike I immediately felt the difference as my previous pack left my upper back a but sore after a long day hike. The waist belt also has very convenient pockets that can fit a cell phone (galaxy s3) or any other quick access items. The space for the water bladder has a hook so your bladder doesn't sink into the bottom of the bag as it becomes empty (worked well with my camelback bladder). The overall quality of the bag is very good and should hold up well over the years. This pack also straps down so it doesn't look big and can be used to commute or carry a laptop around / travel with. I've also used it on a bike and it works fine (doesn't get in your way). One thing I wish this bag had was some additional loops on the bottom back to possibly strap a sleeping bag on bottom for a one night trip. Otherwise, it has plenty of hooks on the sides and back for additional items. One other (small) gripe is that I'm shorter / smaller and when tightening up the waist straps, it leaves a lot of slack. I used some velcro ties to fold them up and secure them, so it's not a big deal. I wish they had included something to secure the long strap excess though.

Rated4out of5byfromGood everyday commuter packMain use is for daily commuting. There is plenty of room for hauling lunch, running clothes, iPad and misc work items. There are enough storage areas to keep thing organized without going overboard. The only criticism might be that the top pocket is not sewn into the pack on the inside. So when pulling items out the top pocket will often flop out or get caught up. All in all its a comfortable, light weight pack that does everything you would need for day hikes, commuting and the like.
