Rated4out of5byGerardHfromOsprey Aether 70 PackComfortable, great fitting, lots of room, balances well. Used it for the Superior Hiking Trail and BWCA canoe trips in northeastern Minnesota. Took a while to learn the adjustment straps and there's still a learning curve going on.
Cons: Top lid compartment needs a double zipper rather than a single like it currently has -- when the compartment is zipped shut, the zipper invariably gets stuck under the lid flap. Like almost all internal frame backpacks, there are no external pockets/compartments and I never understood that omission. If you need quick access to something that you're going to use on the trail frequently (knife, etc.), you have to open up the pack and dig through the contents to retrieve it. The 2013 model apparently has pockets on the hip straps, but I'm reviewing the 2012 model that I picked up on closeout.
Overall, a very comfortable pack with good balance and decent ventilation for an internal frame. Osprey et al. just need to put more thought into ergonomics.

Rated5out of5byAbbajfromReally great packReally comfortable and easy to adjust. The pack is well built the seams are strong. Zippers are all strong and glide easily. I have only been out with this pack once so far but was really pleased. I wish there were a few built in pockets/compartments but stuff bags solve that problem.

Rated4out of5byMatt of the Blue RidgefromGreat Pack!!!This pack gets more comfortable with every step Beats my old Kelty external frame hands down. Looking forward to taking it on longer trips, have had it out on 5 and 12 mile hikes so far, just keeps getting better. Had it loaded as I normally would for camping, just to get used to the feel. Love it!!

Rated5out of5byNCAPPMARfromGreat Pack!I use this pack regularly for both hiking and travel. So far it has been very good to me and very comfortable. In April I hiked the West Highland Way in Scotland (100 miles) in under six days, through rain most days, with the pack at around 45 pounds and never had a single issue. For the price its' a steal!

Rated4out of5byCale the BackpackerfromNearly perfect multi-day packThis is a fantastic backpack for weekend to week-long or more trips. The only negative is the lack of hipbelt pockets, although Osprey did add this feature to the 2013 update. I bought an official Osprey DigiStow as a solution to this and it's worked out perfectly so far. Osprey's gear is very high quality and I won't need to buy a new pack for years.

Rated4out of5byFun HunterfromGreat pack but sizing was trickyLet me start by saying the pack did everything I wanted it to do. Just short of having a few smaller pockets for snacks, camera or permits/maps to make it a great pack, the sizing was the only issue for me. I fall right between a large and medium. So I pick up a large and went on a 22 mile hike. By the second day, I had no adjustment on my waist. Shoulders were fine. Wearing a fleece jacket helped but most my hiking is done in warm weather.
Conclusion: Great pack and would gift it to my mother. (I love my mom) Just watch the sizing. :)
