Drill through darkness with the compact-yet-powerful Fenix PD32 Ultimate Edition flashlight. It features a burst mode that outputs 740 lumens and throws a beam 155m (508 ft.).
Features a Cree XM-L(T6) neutral white LED that operates in 5 brightness levels to meet your needs whether you're reading a book or hiking through a dark forest
Flashlight output ranges from 9 lumens on low to 740 on burst mode; to avoid overheating, burst mode will operate for 3 min. before automatically switching to turbo mode

Press the tail cap switch lightly for momentary on or press it all the way to turn the flashlight on completely
With the flashlight on, press the switch on the side to adjust the output; PD32 remembers the last output level, so the next time you turn it on it starts where you left off

Rated3out of5byMN Search and RescuefromGreat light, bad case, now lost lightI loved this light. Really, really, really bright.
I was hesitant to purchase such and expensive light... But I firmly believe you get what you pay for, especially from REI.
Im a volunteer search and rescue member. I used this light a few time during search and rescue missions, it was great! Able to spot important details in the middle of the night. I planned to use it for guiding trips. I also run an outdoor program for a college.
I recently went on a mission for search and rescue, I had my light on my belt as I always do. Unfortunately the nylon belt case broke off my belt and now my light is gone. I'm pretty disappointed with the case breaking and losing this light. It seems that this light was designed for the purposes I was using it for. Only got a couple months of use out of it. There isn't any event that stands out that put extra stress on the flashlight case.
I plan to try and work with REI and Fenix to try getting it replaced. I don't have my hopes too high due to the fact that all I have is the diffuser.
Again, great light but put it in you pocket. Don't rely on the case. Would have rated it 5 stars if I wouldn't have lost it.

Rated4out of5bybrockrumerfromBright and versatileThis flashlight lives up to the Fenix reputation. It's nicely engineered and well-built. And, boy-howdy, is it bright! I highly recommend this flashlight.
There are 2 things that keep me from giving 5-stars:
1) The brightness level is set by clicking the side button, and it's a little hard to tell which setting you are on (i.e., if you are on the brightest) without cycling through a few times.
2) I really wish this had the ability to focus the beam (flood vs. spot). I thought with 7 outputs I wouldn't miss it, but I do.

Rated5out of5byLonewalkerfromThe flashlight best I ever bought or ownAll I can say is WOW! This flashlight is GREAT. The most versitile flashlight anyone could ever own. After using it a few times I had to buy another one for the wife.
First of all, I needed a good flashlight for outdoor adventures lasting several days. Good battery life is a must. The less batteries I have to carry, the lighter my load. Under normal use around the campsite, the PD 32 will give me 9 lumens of light for 130 hours. 9 lumens is a decent amount of light for around the campsite and in my tent. Yes, you can read with 9 lumens really well. But this translates to 13 nights out on the trail off of one set of CR123 batteries. Try that with a Maglight.
There are also 4 more brightness levels in the event you need a more powerful beam. There's a 40 lumen beam should you need some light in the immediate outside perimiter of your campsite. This will shine for 27 hours if need be. Thats still over 3 nights of light. There is also a 140 lumen beam should you need to get a little outside the immediate perimeter of your campsite. This beam shines a good distance and can be vital to see if there are any animals lurking about in the night. Add to that a turbo beam that shines at 400 lumens. Should you need to initiate a search for a missing hiker or a pet, this light will give you a beam that goes out to 170 yards! This could be a lifesaver in extreme circumstances. Of course these lighting levels work similarly in day to day use, whether out walking the dog at night or in an emergency situation, power outages, etc.
Now that you thought this was all add to that a burst lighting level of 740 lumens! This lighting mode can assist you in identifying distant objects in detail. And because of the white light LED, it will be in its true colors. I should note at this point that the higher lighting levels WILL deplete you batteries at a faster rate, so use the brighter levels sensibly.
This light is not only for camping and normal day to day use. It is also an excellent self defense weapon. If you are out at night in a dimly lit area and are about to be accosted by some thug, the burst mode will temporarily blind your assailent long enough for you to flee the situation. This can be done in an instant if you are using the memory function. The memory function will automatically turn on your flashlight to its last setting with the press of the tailcap button. So when you last turn off your flashlight, be sure it is in the burst mode so it can come on with the press of a button. Add to that a good defensive spray ( mace/pepper spray ), you have youself a non lethal combo that will get you out of a jam quickly.
Thats not all folks. The diffuser that come with this flashlight is great. It works in all lighting levels, so whether you are looking for some diffused light to read by in your tent at night, or must direct traffic in an emergency situation, you'll have the appropriate level of light to meet the task.
Finally, the flashlight offers two carry options you can take advantage of. It comes with a sheath so you can carry it on your belt, or it also comes with a lanyard so you can hang it around your neck.
The flashlight also comes wih your first set of batteries, and spare 'o' rings to keep it water tight.
I can honestly say that this is the best flashlight I have ever owned and beleive you would feel the same if you got one. So, what are you waiting for?

Rated5out of5byfishinbeatsworkinfromgreat flashlightI had my eye on this flashlight for awhile. Finally bought it. I use it for outdoor activities and for work. It really lights up an attic, crawlspace, & the woods. i bought a couple of the rechargeable batteries from Fenix to go with it. I've been using the first charged battery for over a month & it's still going strong. Granted, i don't run it full power nonstop, but for normal use i'm impressed with the battery life. I recently took it camping & it lit up the surroundings like a search light. I'm glad i made the purchase

Rated5out of5byJDOfromPhenomenalThis is a phenomenal light. Like the original PD32 on steroids. The Super Turbo mode lights up an entire room with a flashlight that barely spans the palm of my hand. Durable and reliable--phenomenal price. You can't go wrong with this item.

Rated5out of5byroesreaderfromWorks above and beyondThis Flashlight really works. It can take a beating and is light weight enough to carry with you anywere. It's more than powerfull enough. you just have to shell out a little extra for the spare batteries and charger, but it is worth it.

Rated4out of5byOutdoorsy JamesfromGreat FlashlightI love Flashlights! I own MANY and build mine own. I own many by Fenix and have really loved the quality, customer service (had one switch go bad and replaced for free), and the price point is great.
I wanted to buy my father a bright flashlight to use around the barn. So I bought this to review myself first (then decided to keep it and buy another one for him). I use rechargeable 18650 batteries - and highly recommend them. Otherwise battery cost will add up quick. All the top flashlights (tactical) use 18650's. Get some! Look for the news ones rated at 3100 mAh. More mAh equals longer life.
I generally like color tints on the cool side. Cool tints seem to be brighter and shoot further, but wanted to try a neutral tint like this one. XML LED's are the very latest and are incredibly bright! This flashlight has a great beam, but it isn't built to project like a flashlight with a huge reflector. But still does an incredible job and will light up the world around you. This is my new hiking, dog walking, general purpose light. And not bulky, so i can put it in my pocket and doesn't bother me.
I backpack a LOT. I generally have several lights (handheld and headlamps) For handheld, I prefer ones that can shoot a beam out if I hear a noise or need to locate my dog. I will still carry the other flashlights for that purpose, but plan bring this one along as well. Especially for the nice candle diffusor adaptor. SUPER awesome. (I know, I am not ultra-light backpacker when it comes to certain things...like flashlights).
Oh, this will burn through the batteries if you use it on the highest or second highest setting. I haven't timed the run times, but they are probably accurate. Hence the suggestion to get some 3100 or 3400mAh 18650 batteries!

Rated4out of5byBike CommunutfromBright and CompactThis light is in addition to two other Fenix flashlights I've owned and still use (FD20 & FD22). This light was bought for the higher lumens and the rechargable battery (FENIX 18650) and ability to use CR123 type batteries. It is bright and so far the battery last a good week before needing a re-charge. I bike each morning and evenings 5 miles each way on roads and this light is bright and steady on dark mornings lighting the road ahead. On lighted mornings and evening returns I use the burst mode to be seen. I'm not fond of the SOS burst mode, the FD20 has a steady burst mode I like better. The flashlight mounts into a 'Twofish' flashlight holder.
