The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5byFreeskier989fromGreat flask to keep beer, water, whatever cold!I got this for all kinds of reasons - bringing beers to the beach to keep them cold all day as i sip them, to have a strong water supply (again that stays cold all day) and this does not disappoint. Great product, beautiful design, couldn't be happier.

Rated3out of5byDaoyeefromGreat bottle, bad taste.I love the form and function of this bottle. It keeps my hot drinks hot and my water cold. My only complaint is after washing the bottle multiple times it still has this metallic taste.

Rated5out of5byjeeptrailrunnerfromlife changing bottleLife changing you ask? Overall this is an amazing bottle. When holding it in your hands you know it is a high quality bottle that may even replace all of your others. Being insulated it also does not sweat with cold drinks, so your bottle will not leave its "mark". 18oz is just big enough to hold a good amount of fluids, but also small enough so it will also fit under a cooler/fridge water dispenser for filling. I use mine at work (hospital) so I know it is durable and can be properly washed out. As it is stainless steel on the inside you are also able to properly sterilize it too.
This was the mind blowing part for me: Besides the great insulation factor, I also purchased the coffee lid for the bottle. This was fantastic as I was able to drink my coffee, switch out the lid, then proceed to use it as a water bottle for the rest of the day :) I use a small Osprey Mantra backpack for every day use, so not having to carry a water bottle AND coffee mug around is awesome! It also keeps my coffee hot for hours.
Besides being possibly the best bottle you'll ever own it does have a few minor drawbacks: this 18oz bottle, and my 21oz both started developing a "rattle" from a piece of loose metal within the insulated layer. My best guess js that its one of the welds which holds the inside of the bottle to the outside layer in place, but does not cause a swallow hazard. Also, you need to be careful not to drop it. Even though the powder coat finish is a Chuck Norris grade finish, it can chip when dropped on a hard surface.

Rated5out of5bymichtexfromThe only bottle I use anymoreI absolutely love this bottle. I have two of them now and am about to buy a third. I only use the fliptop lid as I have a tendency to spill all over myself with the widemouths. This keeps cold things cold all day long. I have left it in the car in the Texas heat for an hour or two and come back and the water is still icy cold.
It's not as good at keeping things piping hot, but certainly does keep things pretty hot for a few hours.
I tried the larger size, but with the fliptop it was too much water pressure and the lid leaked a little bit. It works fine with this size, though. This week, the bottle was accidentally catapulted across a room, twice, leaving it with a small dent in the bottle, but not a drop of tea was lost from the flip top lid!
Highly recommended. In fact, a couple of my friends now swear by Hydroflask as well.

Rated1out of5byRonstar1fromPerformance failureThis flask appears to be not much more than a glorified water bottle. It does, when used at room temperature, keep drinks cold for a good part of the day if you add ice cubes, although after about 6 or 8 hours drinks will lose their coolness. The 24-hour claim of coldness only appears to apply if the flask in used outdoors in near or below freezing temperatures.
Where this flask really fails, however, is in keeping hot drinks hot. When the flask is used in a room-temperature environment, after a few hours hot liquids have noticeably cooled and by about four or five hours they are trending toward lukewarm. When used outside in near or freezing temperatures, hot liquids cool significantly after an hour and are cold in two or three hours. This occurs even with pre-heating the flask with boiling water. The claim of keeping liquids hot for up to 12 hours appears to be simply false.
Further, if you keep the optional flip lid (available as an accessory) on the flask, it can open accidentally fairly easily when kept in a pack. This necessitates carrying the flip lid separately and swapping lids whenever you want a hot drink (with cold liquids you can drink straight out of the wide-mouth opening).
While the flask looks good, it fails in its performance and certainly does not live up to the product description's stated claims.

Rated5out of5bymeistervufromAwesomeThis container is even better than my old stainless thermos at keeping hot drink. I put hot tea in it in the morning and it's still hot in the afternoon!
I bought and lost a small mouth version of this container, so when it came to getting a replacement, I had trouble deciding between the 2: small or big mouth. What can a big mouth do that a small doesn't? I bought the big mouth anyway to try something different, and after a month I think this is what I figured out.
The big mouth is a bit shorter because the cylinder stays the same size to the top, where as the small mouth tapper at the top. It also seems to insulate better due less wall surface per volume and possibly better insulation compared to the small mouth area.
I love stainless bottle for the taste, and this bottle is really well made. If I were to carry one bottle, this would be it.

Rated4out of5byUnmighty1fromVery niceI have enjoyed this bottle immensely! It does not keep ice as long as I thought it would but it keeps it plenty long. It keeps hot drinks hot for a good long time.
