They dry fast and are made of very fine quality materials. The belt is a metal hook that slides into slots along the belt line. The belt is elastic so it is always keeping your pants up without being too tight. The barrel locking elastic cord in the cuff is great for keeping out debris. The only drawback is that there are no back pockets. You really should get these pants. First night I had them I actually slept in them, they were that comfortable. I then promptly ordered another pair.

Rated5out of5byNighteyesfromDurable, Lightweight pants....As with the other reviewer, I am extremely picky about what pants I wear(ask my wife). My pickiness generally results in me wearing a pair of pants one time before sending them back to the store with my personal shopping assistant (also my wife). I have to say that while these pants are extremely light weight, they seem to be constructed of very high quality fabric. Living in an area with very high humidity and heat during the summer, it is important that I can wear long pants that are breathable yet durable for recreation and work. I'm not a fan of shorts, so even when it's really hot, I've felt comfortable in the Grifters. As I stated above, they breathe well and dry quickly while still providing enough protection.
On a side note, while I feel like these pants would fit in most places, ie, walking around town, through the woods, climbing, etc., they do look pretty goofy if you have to tuck in a shirt for some sort of dress code (mostly due to not having back pockets). Unfortunately, I have to do that very thing during the week at work. While I won't be wearing them to work during the week, these pants will definitely be my new go-to's for all areas outside of the job.
Lastly, I agree with the previous reviewer about the legs being a bit longer than normal. For a lot of us this isn't a bad thing!

Rated5out of5byHikeCampClimbBeHappyfromMy new favorite pants. These may be my new favorite pants. I'm picky about pants, especially pants to climb in, because I need to have a perfect fit for the waist without requiring an external belt that interferes with a harness. With the innovative low-profile integral belt, these pants are it. Arcteryx quality doesn't disappoint, so I hope to get some mileage out of these. While I target technical climbing, they seem rugged but are probably flexible enough for bouldering or yoga.
For reference, the legs run long for a 32" inseam. I am 32/32 and it's a perfect fit for me with the leg just touching the floor at my heel, but I prefer a longer leg. The waist is plenty adjustable -- the buckle mechanism allows for about 5" of circumferential movement.
