The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
REI Rectangular Luggage Tagis rated3.1667out of5by6.
Rated3out of5byKeeping It SimplefromMixed FeelingsI had purchased one of these tags a year ago, and need additional. The cable and threaded connection are strong and secure, and very unlikely to become disconnected.
The reason for my lower rating is because of a few disappointing design changes from the first tag that I had purchased:
First ... the plastic covering the ID now has a black grid over it (I imagine, for ID security) ... the first one I purchased was clear. I was needing a secure tag with an exposed face to use as an ID for a bags contents (not for travel). I purchased some clear plastic from the office supply store (binder end sheet material), and replaced the black. If you are wanting a tag which conceals your ID; be aware that you have to disconnect the tag and remove the cable to access the ID.
The other reason for my lower rating is because the graphics and colors available with the first tag were much nicer. For full disclosure ... I have a pet peeve about paying money for a product designed to advertise for a business/organization ... especially since the price on this item isn't exactly low. Now, if this was a give-away as part of a promotion, or was less than two dollars, that would seem more reasonable to me. I made an exception on this occasion since I was already in the store and didn't want to search around at other stores.
So, if you are looking for a secure tag, don't mind (or are looking for) a tag which obscures the ID information, and like the graphics/colors, I'm sure you will be happy with this product.

Rated2out of5bycave canisfromRemove black mesh or include clearSeems like it will last forever, love the design.
Cons: price is too high for me to need to replace this dumb privacy window with something I taped or cut out myself. For the money maybe just give us the option by including clear plastic too.

Rated5out of5byCruise loverfromGreat tags!I've tried several tags over the years and they've either been destroyed by the luggage crew or went MIA after I got my bags back. these have a very sturdy means to attach them to your bags and help celebrate you're love of an active lifestyle!

Rated2out of5bymako41fromThese use to be goodThese use to be good. I owned 3 before and picked up some more last time I was at an REI store in Colorado Springs since I don't have a store near me. What a disappointment. These use to have a clear plastic over them so you could actually read the card with your information on it. Now they have put a black cross stitched pattern overlaid on the plastic and even with a white card in the background you cant read the information. So if you lose your bag whoever finds it will have to take this apart and read it. Yeah that's going to happen. Get it together REI...whose ever ideal it was to be cool and put the black mesh overlay on the plastic should be put back in the mail sort room. If I lived close to an REI I would take them back but instead I have my 8 year old daughter fixing the error by cutting some hard clear plastic out to replace the garbage that was included in these.

Rated5out of5byGreenBinersfromNice, Study Luggage TagThis tag attaches securely to luggage, and can be easily / quickly transferred to other bags. A new feature obscures name from a distance due to the plastic overlay, which can be helpful when traveling.

Rated2out of5byTRLNGUAfromGlue doesn't lastThis colorful tag is made of a strong, flexible plastic material that should assure years of hard use. However, this tag (3 years old) is made in two parts and the glue came apart releasing the business card with my ID info. There were still years left on the plastic material. A local REI customer service agent assured me I had gotten my money's worth and should buy another. I was told that REI only warrants products for a year as of a recent decision. I don't recommend this tag.
