The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5byfungifromGreat BootsI got these for my son (8 years old) to use for hiking, camping, etc... That was last year. We used them quite a bit so far, and now 9 or 10 months later he is on the verge of outgrowing them (they grow fast at this age). The boots still look like brand new so I wish I knew someone with a kid the right age/size to pass them down to, but as it is I'll probably just donate them.
Because of how they performed and how much he liked them, I will definitely replace them with the same thing in a larger size. I'd hope to get a little longer use out of the next pair but I suppose he'll be growing at this rate for the next few years. Worth it though even if I had to replace once per year for a while.

Rated5out of5byc2summitfromBest kid's bootThis is the fourth pair of hiking boots I've bought for my daughter since she began hitting the trail with me (while not on my back) and they are the best yet. Most kid's hiking boots are made to look like adult boots but that's where the similarities end. These really are just like the adult version of the boot and after comparing multiple brands and styles (I'm a total gearhead), these were a no-brainer. Although a bit expensive for a 7 yr. old, they're well worth it. Comfy straight outta the box, lightweight, well constructed, great support, waterproof (she loves stream crossings), and excellent traction on wet/dry rock, etc. Just got'em and she's put several miles on them already and loves them.

Rated4out of5byRide AnythingfromWill buy again as the boys outgrow themI bought these for my 2 boys who love Geocaching. We do alot of this in Big bear and they needed good ankle support and traction as they climb everything. These shoes provide great support and sole flex on the mountain trails and climbing rocks, etc.

Rated5out of5bytoogigglyfromGood, well-rounded hiking bootI'm a small adult (boot size: 3). I bought these for a trip to Iceland, where I did some light hiking. I actually broke in my boots during the first few days of the trip. (I didn't listen to well-intended advice to do it beforehand.) It actually didn't take me that long to break them in. My biggest problem was tying my shoes. Because this was my first pair of hiking boots, I wasn't used to the shoes covering the ankle and then how tight to tie them around the ankles. It was mainly my left ankle that bothered me. After a few tries and adjustments, I found the comfy range. After that these shoes fit like a glove. Also, my feet are on the wider side, but not wide enough to buy wide shoes. I wore these for entire days and didn't have any problems. I wore them walking/hiking around the countryside and to waterfalls. Crampons fitted well when I went glacier walking. My feet never got wet and were able to breathe. Overall, I totally recommend these boots.

Rated5out of5byFull of SmilesfromGood Buy!The boots work good for our young active lad (6 years). The boots are comfortable and provide good ankle support. They also conform to his feet and give him stability. He has problems with his feet and these act like an orthotic.

Rated5out of5byIceHawkfromReliable and water resistant bootsMy 7 year old son hiked 22 miles in the Porcupine Mountains in the UP at the end of June, and his new Vasque boots held up great. Despite the wettest and muddiest spring in several years, resulting in our slogging through mile after mile of wet and muddy trail and over slick rocks and logs, both he and his boots held up well with no problems. I had added a spray waterproofing before the trip which likely helped their water resistance

Rated5out of5byMtnRonfromGreat shoeSecond pair I've bought for my daughter. We're a family of hikers, usually in the Sierra, but this summer will be her second trip to the Alps. First pair lasted over 2 yrs with many, many a mile, including her first trip to the Eiger & Zermatt. Waterproof, comfortable, light, and very important for a kid [she's now 11], no break-in period required.
