Rated4out of5byBouyguesfromGreat shoeI'm ordering my second pair. A great shoe with a barely-there feeling, perfect for minimalist runners. I ran two half marathons in them, both times without a blister or any shoe related issues. The only thing I did not like is that a part of the rubber sole came loose early on, and I had to glue it back on. Since they fit so well and feel great overall though, I will continue to buy them. I do not think I ever had a shoe that fit so well and never caused any foot issues etc. I have small feet (I'm French) and I wear them with thin socks, and they are perfect.

Rated5out of5byTravelbuggfromSo far, so good!I just purchased these shoes and did my first long run in them (6 miles). I walked around in these shoes for a few days prior to my first run, and I must admit these are quite comfortable for every day walking. These is just enough cushioning in these so that you aren't feeling every single pebble in the road. These are extremely light weight. Which I am a huge fan of. Those new to minimalist running should REALLY read about transitioning into these shoes as your legs/calves will not be happy with you if you do not ease into these shoes. The width is good, I feel like I can spread my toes while walking/running. Overall, if you are looking for comfortable shoes for walking, these are a MUST. If you are looking for comfortable, lightly cushioned, and very light weight, these are also a great option. I would recommend. These are exactly what I was looking for and look forward to many more miles in them.

Rated4out of5byWendellfromAll day comfortI use these as my all-day shoes at a standing desk in my casual workplace, and also for walking. May try them on short runs eventually. I have narrow feet, average arch, and long toes that need a spacious, square toe-box. This shoe accommodates my feet very well and is comfortable all day.

Rated4out of5bytraviskfromgreat minimal shoes! These shoes are great, i have the minimalist pair of shoes just like these (don't require socks) but i wanted a pair that i could use in cooler weather. These shoes are very comfortable and light weight. The only complaint i have is that my foot arch and the arch in the shoe do not match up perfectly, however i do have that issue with a few pairs of shoes i own.
I use these shoes for everyday wear, road running, pavement, at the gym, just about anywhere.

Rated4out of5bygranolaCruncherfromgreat for trail runningI use these shoes for running on firm gravel trails. I usually run on roads and need a bit more padding than these provide, as I can easily feel it in my shins after running on road without much padding.
However, these are great for trails. They are lightweight and breathable. As with any of the running shoes, if you run a lot as I do, they will wear out, which is why I didn't explicitly list that as a con since I'm used to shoes getting worn after lots of use.

Rated4out of5byey2fromNice Minimal ShoesI have to have dedicated shoes for work, and so I have become used to a very flat shoe during my shift. After work when I put on my regular shoes, my feet would hurt! I needed minimalist shoes. So I went to REI. The staff was very helpful in picking out this shoe. There is a noticeable difference between this brand/model and the Vivobarefoot models. These have a slight bit of cushion but are still "zero drop" so for me they are perfect since I have been transitioning. These are the only shoes that I wear and I have been wearing them for about a month straight so far. I mostly walk but I have also run in them.
I think they are very comfortable. They are extremely light and I am always amazed at how clunky other shoes feel to me now. I feel close to the ground and it feels natural enough for me to toy around with midfoot and forefoot striking without being distracted by a heel or extra weight. I have a pair of Vibram Fivefingers but the Merrell's actually help me run forefoot more than the Vibrams. I find it hard to run forefoot in Vibrams. I'm still a beginner that is learning and discovering all these new ways to plant my feet on the ground.
The shoes themselves are holding up well. They have been great in the summer. I've never once had "hot feet" like in sneakers. There isn't really any support so if your ankles pronate inward your feet will probably get sore. I have some pronation but it has been getting better. I got these shoes so that I could focus on improving my walking form and strengthen my ankles. I do this by becoming conscious of how I am putting my feet down on the ground. I have a previous ankle injury that made it painful to run, but the times that I have run in these so far it has felt so easy, so free, and so natural. I will definitely get another pair of these or a similar model.

Rated5out of5byMazamaDogfromGreat shoe - exceeded expectations!I wanted a lightweight shoe to take to Europe - something easy to pack that would look good and hold up with a lot of walking. This shoe was all that and more. Not only did I actually get compliments on the shoe's looks - this shoe ended up being my main shoe for every activity - on both trails and streets, it was comfortable in all conditions! I was worried about traction when I had to hike down a slick cobblestone trail in pouring rain, and the traction surprised me - lots of grip, no slip. Because I chose the shoe in black, it worked well for city activities and looked good with casual evening wear. If I had known how well this shoe would perform in all conditions I would have left my other pair of shoes (a heavier Merrell trail shoe) at home!
