Comments about Osprey Manta 28 Hydration Pack - 100 fl. oz.:
I'm impressed with the Osprey/Nalgene collaboration for the hydration system, it's all very logical and has worked well for me so far.
The pack is comfortable, the compression straps have not failed me yet and the weight rides on my hips. More than enough room to carry what ever gear I deem necessary (I keep adding weight to increase my stamina at altitude).

Comments about Osprey Manta 28 Hydration Pack - 100 fl. oz.:
A good, well designed and stable pack for mountain biking, I just wonder about how it will hold up in the long term.
This is my second Osprey pack, i had to return the first one because after a year of normal use, the bite valve cracked and started leaking and some straps broke. I can see that the bite valve on the new pack has been modified, so maybe it will not fail again. The problem is that unlike a Camelback, you cannot easily replace the bite valve on an Osprey, so I hope this one holds together. Also, the retaining straps slip and always need to be readjusted, it is a little annoying sometimes.

Comments about Osprey Manta 28 Hydration Pack - 100 fl. oz.:
I got this pack for the use that it is intended: Day Hikes and light trips. Worked great as a quick overnighter back to a friends house. Fell in love with this pack even more on my first hike to Beale Falls (aka Fairy Falls) this last weekend! The mesh panel really allows for air flow to your back, and pack doesn't get soaked in sweat. The waist belt did hold in some moisture, but not bad and dried quickly in the long run. For the size I got it held: snacks(nature bars, bag of fruit gummies, and some crackers), keys, bug sprays, inhaler, cell phone, long sleeve shirt, spare socks/underwear (you never know), and full water bladder. I still had plenty of room to spare! One of my best investments for hiking! Definitely better than hiking with a school style pack or an Alice Pack.
