New Balance MT10v2 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe I'm just a recreational runner. I usually run 5ks. I'm 5'9" and 180lbs, so I'm on the stockier side. I love these shoes. I wear them for road running. I find that I desire a rock plate for the kind of trail running I do. I usually put on my Vibram Spyridons for trail runs. These shoes seem to wear a little quickly with the exclusive road running that I put on them. I have paddles for feet (wide) and these shoes fit great in their normal configuration. I usually feel tightness in the midfoot area, but not with these. For 5k and shorter distances, I have no issues wearing no socks in these shoes, they are very very comfortable. I began to develop hot spots and blisters past 4 miles. Keeping my weight in mind, I would actually prefer just a touch more cushioning for road-running, although I completely realize these are trail shoes. Love these shoes, though. Even for casual days I find myself reaching for these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Early far, fantastic! I can't speak to the longevity or wear of these shoes as I just bought them today and immediately took them out for six miles on the most rugged parts of our Greenbelt, here in Austin. These shoes felt fantastic in the store and out on the trail--they held up well gliding through rock gardens, exposed roots, loose gravel and even sharp stones. They were truly light and nimble without making my feet feel vulnerable to the terrain. No worries about stubbing a toe, like in Vibram Five Fingers or exposed toe sandals. The other thing you might love about these shoes is that they have a low profile and would be very easy to pack and take with you without sacrificing much space--I hate how big most athletic and sports shoes have become and would always leave them behind in lieu of a pair of good walking shoes that could be dress up or casual. These shoes merit a place in my carry-on only baggage and could easily go casual dress with me. CAVEAT: New Balance will repeatedly warn you on the shoe box and with a product tag that these shoes are MID STRIKE designed--so try them on first to know what you are getting your feet into. I'm a natural mid-strike runner and these shoes would not feel as good on a heel strike runner, so be very mindful of your own gait and be prepared to adjust to a new style of running if these are your first lightweight trail shoes, or you've a different running style. You'll still love them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comfortable but poorly built I am 6'0 and 240lbs and very active. My activities with this shoe include running, weight lifting, and short hikes. This shoe fit me very well and was very comfortable. This is my second pair of minimalist shoes and I really enjoyed them. They worked well for my uses and my feet felt very "free" and I had no pain. Now the downside... they started coming apart after a month of use and maybe had 20 miles on them. The mesh fabric that is sewn to the part where the laces come onto the shoe started ripping on both shoes. It appears New Balance did not design this shoe very well as they sewed right into the mesh and that's what failed. I ended up returning this shoe and thankfully due to REI's awesome policies got my money back. For now I'm still on the quest to find a true hard use minimalist shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE trail shoe Have bought two pairs of these over the past couple of years and won't wear anything else. I have worn them for many 10+ mile runs on rocky, mountainous terrain without issue. I have seen some of the durability issues mentioned, but nothing that effected the functioning of the shoe. The mesh ripped on my first pair (after about 300 miles of heavy trail use), but I can still do long trail runs in them with no problem (the mesh is just a cover for the "glove" part of the shoe). I strongly recommend these if you have a wide foot as well. As a side note, please don't get these if you heel-strike. They are very minimally cushioned and it will wreck your knees and back rapidly. That being said, if you are wanting to train to strengthen your feet and calves for forefoot running (and don't feel like wearing silly five-fingers) this is your shoe. Just remember to do some hiking and ease into it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this shoe! I bought these shoes as my "camp shoes" for a 65 mile backpacking trip. They were wonderful! The soles have great traction (which came in handy for stream fording), they are super light, and you could even hike out on them if your regular boots lost a sole or something (though you might not be able to carry a full pack for distance with them). We also wore them on a layover day for a short dayhike. They don't offer any ankle support, but otherwise they are a great accessory for a backpacking trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They Fit Like a Glove I love these lightweigh shoes. They are the only super lightweight "tennis" shoes I've ever had, and they might be like some other super lightweight "tennis" shoes, but as a category, they are great. These feel like you are practically barefooted, only protected, like from hot roads, sharp objects and other barefooting hazzards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever These shoes are near the best shoes I have ever had. I wear them to dress professionally at work or do the evening in jeans. Never again will I wear the traditional heavy and inflexible dress shoes our dads grew up with. This shoe promotes a mindful awareness of my feet in everything I do.
