The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5byLily the SoldierfromLightest Shoe Ever!Use this shoe daily when I attend Physical Training (PT) and our runs that vary 2 to 5 miles. It lasted the terrain of Afghanistan when I was deployed and worked perfectly. The only issue I had with it so far is the inner sole almost felt it was irritating the sides of my feet, it may be caused with long wear. The lace off to the side is perfect so the tongue of the shoe doesn't feel as though it is in the way. I feel its a more comfortable grip while I run and stays snug longer.

Rated5out of5byhappy2b4fromPerfect for indoor/outdoor trainingI was looking for a shoe that I could use for cross training. An REI employee recommended these. I have to say they were a bit snug when I tried them on, but he reassured me they would provide me with better support. He was right! I love them more each time I wear them. The "boat" like bottom causes constant instability which continually strengthens my core. Hopefully you'll love them as much as I do.

Rated5out of5bywbancroftfromPureGrit 2s are GreatGotta say I'm very happy with these running shoes. I don't run; I walk, so can't attest to running stuff BUT I have very low arches and my feet get tired fast so I'm really appreciating that these fit well, seem to provide good arch support, are very light and cushion my step. They look pretty good too!

Rated1out of5byoutdoorastronomerfromRubs top of foot & heelI've taken these trail running, hiking, and for work trips in the desert. I've never disliked a pair of shoes the way that I dislike them, and if they didn't look so beat-up from the ~2 total weeks of use (accumulated) that I've given them, I'd return them in a heartbeat (I feel bad returning beat-up gear to REI).
Things that I hate about them:
-I was drawn to the asymmetric lacing, but it puts a weird pressure on the top of my foot that aggravates the bone bump halfway between my toes and inner ankle. It's really uncomfortable, almost like the bone bump is getting inflamed. I've never had this issue before.
-The heel rubs, and I get blisters, even after breaking them in. Also, the heel fabric and foam wears *very* quickly.
-The laces are awful. It's true, they don't slip, but they're too short and they make unlacing and getting in/out of the shoes really annoying.
-Loses all of its grip when wet! Makes stream crossings kind of dangerous.
Things that I like:
-decent grip when dry
As you can see, the cons far outweigh the pros. Seriously, if they didn't look like I got them 2 years ago and used them for everything (got them at the beginning of January this year and I try to avoid using these guys if I can help it), then I would have returned them months ago to REI. I only still use them occasionally because I can't afford a new pair of trail-runners right now, and they're my only non-minimalist shoes.

Rated2out of5byTravelbuggfromI wanted to like these, but...Overall these shoes are fairly comfortable. However, the heel in the back was too high and rubbed on my heel/achilles resulting in blisters. I have the road version of these shoes, which are GREAT, but these don't quite fit the same. If the heel was lower and didn't rub me the wrong way, I would have kept these. Had to return.

Rated5out of5byRunOrHikeRainOrShinefromAmazing pair of shoes!I use these shoes at least 2-4 per week. I use them solely for running and hiking. They are the best trail and track running/hiking shoe I've ever bought. They feel like running on clouds. Plus they are an awesome color and look good! I get a ton of complements! They do run a half size small, had to get a size 8 instead of 7 1/2, but that's not a big deal to me. So over all you need a good pair of hiking/ running shoes this is the perfect pair of shoes for you! Happy running and hiking!!!!!

Rated5out of5byWashington triathletefromBEST RUNNING SHOE IN THE WORLDI love my Brooks PureGrit 2s so much that I bought an extra pair to keep at my office for when I wanna do a workout there after work. I first had the PureGrit 1 and then when I put enough miles on those, I replaced them with the PG2s. LOVE the shoe - super comfortable, durable, great for both trail and road use, and have a great color scheme. My only potentially negative comment is that I found the sizing to be off - I am usually a women's 9.5, and *sometimes* I am a 10. But in Brooks PureGrit shoes I am a 10.5!! It took me a while to figure out why I had corns on the outside of my pinky toes, but I eventually figured out that it was because the shoe was too tight. Definitely try sizing up if you're not sure.
