Rated4out of5bycougfromquality product but a little overpricedwhile this a good rei shirt, it's a little expensive for how thin it is. and that's assuming you pay full retail for it. while i recommend this item, i also recommend waiting for it to go on sale or wait for your dividend. it's also thinner than i thought it would be. i've got similar type shirts, that i've paid less for, that are thicker. a thicker material would have been nicer. seeing that it has thumbholes, it's safe to assume the designer meant for it to be worn in fairly chilly to cold weather. so, either make it thicker or take away the thumbholes. oh, and if you order the green, the brighter patches are neon green. the photos on the site don't really reflect just how bright green the shirt is. i did neon colors the first time around in the 80s. not so in to them at 43....

It has a quick dry material which is great underneath a rain jacket. The only dislike is that it has cutouts for the thumb holes. This design feature was meant for runners who want the sleeves to stay all the way down to their hands. Since I do not use it for this purpose, they are unwanted. The Medium size fit nice and snug on my 6'1" 165 lbs frame. Since it allows for great freedom of motion, this was what I was looking for.

Rated2out of5byRabad BikerfromToo warm for meI bought this to wear when I work out at the gym (erg, machines, free weights). I currently wear a rashguard shirt that feels fairly comfortable. I wanted a lighter weight alternative. This shirt's material is thinner than the rashguard. However, the instant I put it on, it felt warm, noticeably warmer than the rashguard. I was heating up without moving. I cannot explain it. I presume it was the material. I returned the shirt to REI.

Rated5out of5byRonLIIfromI would buy this product again and againTook the REI Lightweight Fleet Quarter-Zip Shirt for a four day backpack trip on the Adena Trace loop in Brookville Indiana. Temp ranged from upper 70 to upper 80 in the day. The Quarter-Zip worked great for keeping me dry and comfortable. Worked great as a sun block in the open area's.
Loved the thumb holes to help avoid the blistering of my treking poles because of the hand perspiration.

Rated5out of5byClimbingFilmmakerfromFinally! Almost Perfect!I have used bike jerseys (which are restrictive in shoulders) as climbing and expedition shirts and even for undershirts because most performance shirts do not have the mock collar and zipfront. The mock collar keeps everything from bugs, debris, wind, rain out and yet can be unzipped for venting. I am wearing this climbing/filming in TX summer heat everyday! I roll up the sleeves and don't notice them all day and roll them down if I forgot sunscreen and later to keep skeeters and cold out. The most versatile shirt I own I will buy a dozen eventually. The only changes I would make are lengthen the front zipper 6 inches for when I'm half way up a mountain with 100 pounds on my back and need to let more air in and perspiration out and a chest pocket on left side that will hold an iPhone/iPod. Shirt's tail could be 3 inches longer (but is longer than most) to stay under belt line when climbing and arms over your head all day, but the shirt tail is much longer than Patagonia's ridiculously short shirt tails on their performance Zip-Ts that cost $25 more and the short length of the shirt makes them useless! I do product testing and design for many top companies (not REI) and REI has the best Performance ZipT by a longshot! Love this shirt REI... make more in more color options! Thanks & God Bless!
