The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
REI McCone Soft-Shell Jacket - Men'sis rated4.4286out of5by14.
Rated4out of5byJclausefromGreat JacketI really like this jacket. It is a good medium weight option. I can wear it unzipped for a lightweight option also. Seems to block the wind and rain very well.

Rated4out of5byLaughing BearfromGood so farI've worn this jacket quite often the past 4 weeks and these are my impressions. It is light, it has kept the wind out (though I didn't go out when it was blowing 30+mph), I was in a light rain and did not get wet. Late spring early fall would be okay with a short sleeved shirt, if you want to push the seasons I would recommend layering. The zipper pocket is on the left arm sleeve. I find that to be very oddly placed and I'm not sure what it is intended to carry.

Rated4out of5byUSMA84DABfromValue ShellThe stretch in the material is very good. I use this as a shell over a fleece jacket. The hood fits well and adjusts well. The sleeves are too narrow/tight. Maybe I have some Popeye forearms from lifting weights, but the rest of the jacket is cut very generously. Layering this with the fleece synergizes the two jackets and I have stayed warm into the the teens and single digits. The mesh lining seems to snag easily, so be careful. I liked this so much that I bought a second one (Two is one, one is none). I selected this over 4 other shells in the REI store for my initial gift purchase. Would (and have) recommended this to a friend.

Rated5out of5byRedmattfromI love this jacket! This is a great jacket--sleek and comfortable. It does what it is supposed to do with class, too. It is a great fall jacket--looking forward to the spring. I did wear it on one of our first cold days on my walk to work, and learned that it is not too warm. It blocks the wind perfectly, though not quite warm enough at 25 degrees…but then it's not intended to be.
One of my favorite jackets.

Rated4out of5byCity BeastfromSolid performance for the priceI bought this jacket on sale to wear in the spring and fall on my daily bike commute. I wanted something that was softshell, very windproof, water resistant enough to get me through a 40 minute bike ride in light rain or an unexpected short downpour, able to accommodate layers to keep me comfortable in the 70 to 30 degree temp range, and at least moderately good looking. This jacket has hit all those marks satisfactorily. I'm sure there are better performers out there, but certainly not at or even very near this price point. I biked through a steady rain in it yesterday for 30 minutes and the inside stayed dry. The outside of the jacket dried within an hour of hanging it up. Some muddy spray got on the jacket and it brushed right off after drying. The arms are nice and long to accommodate biking posture. My one quibble is that the zipper at the chin is not adequately covered, so it's a bit pokey. Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase and expect to get a lot of use out of the item.

Rated4out of5bybfwellingtonfromGreat so farSo far this Coat has been a great buy, my old Red Ledge was getting a little ratty, the only thing I'm not too much of a fan of is that is not as tapered as I'd like. other than that it fits great given my small frame and tall height.

Rated5out of5byTheIllusiveManfromExcellent jacket, a little thickExcellent jacket for those spring and fall months in the Pacific Northwest where you might see rain showers one instant and sun the next. As claimed, this soft shell is very wind resistant. I've worn it in the wind and rain showers on the Oregon Coast up to the dry, cold winds of the Columbia Plateau and felt very comfortable. Order your true size and you can layer a fleece jacket under it easily. It's not really "water proof" but whatever DWR that comes on it really works well in rain showers. I suspect in stormy conditions and down pours it would soak through.
Construction is very high quality with good stitching, quality YKK zippers, and a good fit.
The only issue I have with this soft shell it's a little thick for those warmer spring days and it's not terribly light weight. Not enough of a negative to change my 5 star rating as I tend to be a warm blooded person.
Overall, highly recommend this soft shell for your urban adventures and hiking in those spring drizzles. It looks classy and is functional.
