The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byMichaelCHIfromVery happy with this purchaseI bought this jacket in the fall of 2013 and have been very happy with it. Off the bike, it's good to at least 32F, especially with an extra layer like a sweater. On the bike, I imagine it could go lower. I recently rode in mine when it was 40F and was actually sweating a bit.
It's a trim, good-looking jacket that I've been glad to wear to work and back on a daily basis. As one reviewer mentioned, snaps on the back flaps would be a good addition, but it's far from a serious flaw. Though it starts out a little stiff, it soon softens up with wear.
The fabric is tough, too. I caught the right sleeve on the corner of a metal sign a few months ago. I was running, and with an ordinary jacket I think there would have been some serious damage. This one suffered only a half-inch tear that was easily repaired.

Rated3out of5bySchnebit13fromGood, but could be great.I agree with what some of the other reviewers have said. The fit is a bit weird, but it works well for my body.
My biggest complaint is that the jacket doesn't breathe enough.
It would be great if there were pit zips, or a vent at the rear. I find it frustrating when I open the jacket going over the Manhattan Bridge, only to have it fill with air as I descend.
Aside from that I have been enjoying this jacket since last Spring.

Rated3out of5byigzfromWanted to love itI wanted to love this jacket, as at first glance it's exactly what I wanted.
However, the fit is all wrong. I'm 6 feet tall, average build. I'd recommend this jacket for every other reason, but it's not quite right for my body :(
The medium size fit great in the midsection, but was much too tight in the shoulders, especially in a riding position.
The large size is what I settled on, as my shoulders don't get pinched when in a riding position. However, the rest of the jacket just looks baggy.
Suggestion to REI/Novarra: broaden the shoulders a bit, taper the middle, and add a little elasticity to the underarm area.

Rated4out of5bykendawgzfrom"When not riding this is a very stylishI was first taken by how stylish this jacket is. Then I started to read the info that was on the tag: for the biking, resists the wind and waterproof...etc. I was content with just wearing as a casual jacket for walking around in the city. The extras were bonuses!
After several weeks of wearing the jacket I found that it really is not that warm, we're talking about 30 degree weather. It did shed off light rain so that was cool. Again, I bought it just for it's style and I've been very happy with it!

Rated5out of5byThe DizzfromBest. Jacket. Ever. Was looking to replace two okay-to-good city jackets with one great one. I hit paydirt!
This is the ultimate San Francisco jacket for all uses: stylish, lightweight, water and wind proof and with great extra fixtures specifically for biking, like rear pockets and dual vents. Everywhere I go, people compliment how darn stylish the jacket is. And it really is windproof, too. Hasn't rained for sooo long in the City, I'll have to take their word for it that the jacket is waterproof as well. It's trim but roomy enough to layer and the sleeves are plenty long enough.
Nothing to improve on here, except maybe other colors. It's dark, dark grey, but not a true black.
I love it!

Rated2out of5byJason in BostonfromClose but no cigarSaw the reviews and liked the way it looked in the pics and video and decided to give it a shot. It was almost exactly the commuting jacket I've been longing for, but they messed up a couple of key details.
The first is that the sides of the jacket each have a 6" opening/flap. You can't see it in any of the pics and you can barely see it in the video. This is the fatal flaw. Even just wearing it in the store, I could feel that it was always going to let cold air up into the jacket so that my waist would feel cold and exposed. Not only is this the first jacket I've seen in a long time that doesn't have a waist cinch, these flaps don't have any method of closing them. A zipper, velcro, or even snaps would all have been helpful. Even better would be a waist cinch and no openings at all.
Couple with that, the jacket was fairly heavy and warm, but didn't have any pit zips. I could tell right away that I would be hot and sweaty in my core and simultaneously cold and drafty around my waist from the prior problem.
It's a shame, because I loved the way it looked on me and it seemed otherwise ideal for cold weather cycling around town. The long sleeves are a bit weird, but I could get used to them. But with no pit zips or other cooling mechanism and the weird waist, I couldn't do it. Returned it without even leaving the store.

Rated5out of5byMe SFfromStylish, yes... Warm, yes... Great BuyThis jacket is every bit as stylish as described. Fits in great along rides down Valencia St in San Francisco. The fit is snug, but comfortable and keeps me warm on windy cool days (which is most days in SF). I use it for evenings out by bike and on commute days when I am not doing a work-out ride. The roll down cuffs provide additional reflection at night. A good safety feature.
