I have had this case on my 4s for almost a year. So far, I have fallen in several lakes and the ocean with the phone in my pocket with no leakage. I've lost it in the sand while playing volleyball, found it, and washed it off in the sink with no issue. I am very hard on my phone and this case has saved me repeatedly. I am starting to see a little wear around the edges and considering purchasing my second.
THe only issue I have ever had is I seem to misplace the headphone adapter from time to time.

This case seems to offer the best water protection for an iPhone at this time. I've used mine for several months so far and it has been exposed to moisture (blown snow, drizzle, etc.) but not total immersion yet. So far it has protected the phone with no problems. The Gore-Tex membranes at the sound openings seem to work great - i've noticed absolutely no degradation in sound quality even though the phone is in a waterproof case! Be aware that the case requires a special adaptor (which is included with the case) in order to use headphones. Some charging cable connectors - such as the one I use to hook my phone to my car stereo - may not work with this case. The original Apple cords fit fine.

Great concept, poor execution. The water proof seal will fail no matter how often you test and clean it. When it does your phone is done for. The headphone adapter can't handle regular use and fails. Customer service claims you are great and important to them, but can take over a month to address your issue. Worst experience I have ever had with a company and their product. When all the stars are aligned and the case is working it is everything the marketing claims, however the magic doesn't hold up over time. Seek an alternate product!

Been using my case for over a year now, and must say I probably will never turn back. Other waterproof cases are super bulky and not ok for everyday use. I never take this thing off, like Lifeproof intended. Yes, the fact that you need adaptors to use third-party accessories is fairly annoying, but in exchange for a worry free day of showers, sinks, and life on the river, it's totally worth it. For everyday use, I can listen to music in the shower, and soap this thing up to remove fingerprints, what other case lets you do that ;)

This is a phenomenal product, I've surfed, swam, run marathons in the poring rain, taken this thing in the Mojave Road, climbed Mt. Whitney, you name it... this case can take the punishment. To the reviewer who had issues, perhaps you got a dud, but likely you installed it incorrectly, there are specific instructions. These are so good I bought one for everyone in the family who has an iPhone (more than a dozen people) and they all have nothing but praise for this case. Best iPhone case on the market hand down.

Water got into my iPhoen 4s when I took it to the pool a week after having it. Completely ruined it. Apple declined warranty due to "water damage".

I followed the instructions on testing it prior to installation.

Works as a weather resistant case but definately not waterproof.

I really liked this case because my old phone took a dive in a cup of water and stopped working even with the bowl of rice trick. Waterproof, dust proof, drop proof, all without adding a lot of bulk to the unit is awesome. The only challenge I have with the case is that it limits using certain docks or connectors when it is in this case. Also the little top screw for the headphones seems like it could be lost easily. I use it with the LifeProof bike holder and some apps to replace my cyclocomputer with no worries of it getting wet or damaged during a ride. Running with it is great too. Sound is pretty amazing considering it is completely enclosed. Yes it is a little louder when you remove the case, but I have tested the quality of calls and haven't heard a truly noticeable difference in quality or volume on either my or the caller's end.

I bought this instead of an otterbox defender for one reason- This is waterproof. It really is. This is great, but leads to problems. First, there are rubber membranes that cover the openings. These make it waterproof. The problem is it makes the ringtone muffled. Talking and listening is the same with poor clarity. The screen protector feels awkward and the screw in earphone jack plug is not secured to the phone. Unscrewing this everytime I got in the car to play music through my stereo was a huge pain. I would only recommend buying this if you are going to be spending ample time in a boat, in the rain, or if you are clumsy and feel you may frop it in the toilet.
