I can't remember when I bought this, but was at least 5 years ago. The headband is different, but the rest is the same.

Well, after at least 3 dozen car camping trips, several backpacks, and even 3 caving adventures, my quad headlamp has help up very well. Dropped it in a creek. No problem. Dropped it in a cow patty. No problem. Fell into a campfire. No problem.

Many of my friends have bought newer and more expensive headlamps, and my quad headlamp performs, and sometimes out performs, them all.

This headlamp provides a bright and well focused beam of light. Too many headlamps I've seen have uneven light patterns. And some seem bright around the campfire, but when you are out on your own, the beams just don't light your path well. This Princeton Tec does both.

And this is important… the elastic headband is still flexible and resilient. My last [other brand] headlamp, the elastic when south and started to loose is elasticity after a few years.

Ok, I guess having a red light mode would be nice. But that's the only con I can come up with.

I've used this unit maybe 20 times over a year period. The on/off button stopped working. No drops, wet nothing.

I purchased this headlamp about a year ago and have used it for hiking/camping and at home during power outages. It's easy to use with it's large power button, 4 modes, and swivel head.
Recently we had a 5 day power outage at our home and this headlamp was brighter and better than the various candles, flashlights, and other headlamp model. The swivel head came in handy for reading and doing dishes, and the low battery sensor is a nice touch. I have gifted this headlamp twice: one to a friend for camping/hiking purposes and another to my mom, for future power outages!
