The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated4out of5byJones13fromLightweight Bag.This is the first Osprey bag I have owned and I have yet to truly give it a good test.
However, with my initial uses I can attest that while it doesn't have a water bottle net it does have ample space for a bladder which doesn't compromise the storage area.
So long as you keep the pack to a minimum and light weight as possible the shoulder padding should suffice. If you plan on taking a long day hike I would suggest finding a different pack that has a little more padding and possible a little easier access storage if you are like me and bring a point and shoot camera with you but don't carry it in your pants.
It's a great "throw" bag for those quick exploring moments where you don't need much for supplies but take enough where having a pack comes in handy.
As far as on the bike, it did it's job. It might not be the best choice for a bike pack, but I would throw it in as a suggestion for those looking.
I also purchased the orange version which is hunter orange in color and is great for visibility.

Rated3out of5byHannamanfromNice lightweight day packThis pack is a nice lightweight pack that does not have much capacity so it forces me to travel lighter. However, I can fit my 3 L Platypus in it and there is another smaller pocket in addition to the main compartment inside. The outside has several small pockets that are maybe too small, but there is a cinching cord outside which is great for carrying extra layers.

Also was able to put my own hydration pack in and it worked well.

Rated4out of5byStarrnfromGood overall packOverall I love this pack. No daypack in the store had everything I wanted, but this pack for the price is pretty good. My only complaint is that there isn't anywhere outside of the pack to put a water bottle for easy access. I got the juicy orange and the picture doesn't do it justice it's a very bright and vibrant orange. You can't go wrong with Ospreys lifetime warranty either. I spent over an hour trying on nearly every day pack in the store and picked this. I also love the idea of a bright orange pack, when hiking during hunting season

Rated5out of5byPabloA2fromGreat lightweight packI'm a bit of a pack junkie; for me one size never fits all so I tend to like options with a pack. There are times when all I want to do is carry an iPad, a jacket and a few other things so a small trim pack like this is perfect, especially in an airport where a big pack does little more than get in the way.
What I like about this bag right off is the shape, its contoured and well shaped so its easy to wear and doesn't get in the way even in crowded situations. The taps on the zippers are easy to use even with gloves and while the streamlined design may limit some it works well for me. The interior of the pack features a sleeve that fits up to a 17" MacBook Pro but typically I use it for my iPad, it will also function as a pocket for a bladder if you want to use it that way. With a laptop or tablet in the bag there is still plenty of room for essentials such as a jacket, a lunch or other things a commuter may choose to carry. I have no problem stashing keys, wallet, sunglasses or phone in the exterior pockets. The shoulder straps are great and the adjustable sternum strap is a breeze to use. I've actually ditched the waist belt, its actually more of a stabilizer as its not padded and since I don't use it I like the more streamlined look of its absence.
Like all Osprey bags this Axis is well designed, thought out and made of high grade materials with an obvious attention to detail. All in all this is a great lightweight and streamlined option for a traveler, commuter or hiker that doesn't want to be burdened by a pack that's too bulky or too limiting and small; in my opinion the Axis is just right for the on the go professional or traveler.

Rated5out of5byDaven the RavenfromGreat Briefcase BackpackI'm a huge fan of Osprey packs, so that is where I looked when I wanted a "briefcase backpack." For me, this was exactly the size I was looking for. I plan on using it for work and as a carry on. In the padded computer section, I can fit a leather legal pad portfolio, and my 10.1" tablet, also in a leather case. Document sleeve would fit a legal file folder, but right now, just has my kindle. There is still plenty of room in the main section for a neck pillow and blanket, and snacks.
Top pocket has slots for pens and a key hook, and is the same size as most top pockets on other panel loading day packs. The two side pockets could hold a small water bottle, or bulky, hard sunglasses case. For business situations, I think the zippered pockets look better than the mesh side pockets on a lot of packs.
If I would change anything about this pack, I would take the shock cord off the front, and replace it with a stretchy front pocket... Better for stuffing a rain shell. Other than that, this thing is perfect. I'm confident it will stand up to tons of abuse, just like my other Osprey packs. I'm sure this would work well for day hikes too.
