Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks - Men's:
I've only worn these on one hike, but will be buying more. I am a women's size 7/7.5, I bought the medium I think (the label says what size to purchase, it was an accurate recommendation) and they were a calf-saver on my last hike.
I had a bit of a calf injury, but still had to get in a training hike - thanks to these socks I barely even thought about my calf...I wasn't operating at full capacity, but they got me through a long day I wouldn't have been able to without them.
I'm definitely buying more for running and even on cold days at work where I'm on my feet all day long.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Graduated Compression Ultra Light Socks - Men's:
I am an aging mountain climber. To maintain fitness, I've done some relatively extreme training - 9-12 miles on a trail in 3 - 4 hours kind of thing is weekly, with the occasional spurt to 16 miles with an 8,000' vertical gain in 5 hours.
These socks are a life saver. Since using them, I've had no lower leg pain no matter how extreme the workout. On my long slow distance days, I can go forever without leg or foot fatigue.
When climbing mountains, I wear these socks as a liner under the Smart Wool Climbers Sock. Great combination.
