I wore this coat every day in Russia where the weather was never above 24 degrees F. On aveage it was around 16 and I didn't feel cold at all. It is also great for inside, very breathable and would not get too hot. Excellent purchase.

I haven't had it long enough to test durability, nor have I worn it in rain to see if it is water-resistant (probably not). But it is quite warm and cozy. The collar zips up to cover chin and mouth for protection against wind. Sleeves have elastic cuffs--more wind protection. Pockets are very deep.

Very versatile, stylish piece. I wear this going around town on errands; cold winter walks; snowtubing with the family, and date nights, etc. I like the sleeves (they are knit for a "tight" fit that keeps out the cold). I love the collar and finishing touches (pocket finishing, quality zipper) that make this look more stylish than your typical outdoor jacket. I compared it against many brandname jackets and not only does this have superior quality, it's a better value.

I'm an admitted wuss when it comes to the cold. I've been on the lookout for a new coat for sometime and then I found this one from REI. I have other jackets from REI and their quality is top notch. I can say the same for the Chilly Parka. It's lightweight and compact - I stuff it in my work file cabinet drawer.

The pockets are great - well placed. I only wish the coat had a hood.

I absolutely love this coat. The length is wonderful and its fit is flattering - it has a very nice princess shape. The sleeves are a good length for me as well, and the cuffs at the end are great for keeping out the chill at the wrists. The pockets are also very deep which is nice.

I would say it runs pretty true to size, if not a little large - I tried on some XL NorthFace coats and they were a few inches too small, and this one in an XL fits perfectly with just a t-shirt on underneath. I'm not worried about not being able to layer, because the first few times I have worn this coat I have had to unzip it in 30-degree weather - it's that warm!

I sometimes wish it had a hood, but the mock-neck, when zipped all the way up, keeps my neck sufficiently warm. I'll just have to get a hat.

This parka is nicely tapered and flattering, a good length, the Seattle Mist color is beautiful, it's 700-fill down at a great price, and the XS fits well (I'm 5'4 110 lb.). I don't like the external knit cuffs, however, as they fall over the top of my hands and get in the way of gloves. All my gloves are closely fitted, so it's a struggle to get the cuffs into the glove, and then the coat sleeves look odd (too short). If I put the cuffs over the gloves, the cuffs stretch out a lot. Either way, I'm likely to wind up with over-stretched gloves or over-stretched cuffs. If the sleeves had the typical recessed knit cuff that stopped at the wrist, I'd be happy, but unfortunately I'll be returning the coat. It would have got 5 stars except for the cuff.

I just bought it and it looks awesome. I really want weather to be cold this year, so I can wear it. I was buying REI brand goose feather jackets for my kids and I am super happy to find this figure flattering, female friendly one for my self. Price is very reasonable. I am planning buy the other lighter color as well.

This coat is perfect. It's warm and cozy but also stylish and flattering. I love the length and the collar is fantastic. I'm not a hood gal. I like to wear a hat when I need to so this coat certainly fits the bill for that. I searched high and low and tried on several styles and brands over a few weeks but always came back to this one even though it was less costly than the other options. Get it~ you won't be disappointed.
