The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Primus Polaris Power Lantern:
First I should note that the first unit was DOA. REI replaced it.
Got this unit for the combination of features. The USB power port is a great idea, and the 4D cells have enough power to do it. If you're camping our your power is out for days, it's nice to be able to keep your phone charged. Also having multiple brightness settings is important to me to get the right amount of light for the situation and not waste battery.
The unit is fussy to assemble. The battery compartment takes AGES to open via an awkward screw attachment. Re-assembly is even more awkward because they allowed too much room for the batteries to flop around and one or more batteries will interfere with the mating piece. You have to *almost* put the cover back on while jiggling the batteries until they all fit. Hey, they threw in a puzzle for free! You'll get it eventually but it's a stupid design.
There is no documentation or technical information other than the small blurb you see on the package. You might like to know the lumen settings for all 5 of the brightness settings and battery runtimes for each? Too bad. There's no info even on the manufacturer website. Way to go.
To get the USB port activated you have to turn the brightness up to at least the 3rd level. Then it's charging and you can adjust or turn off the light if you wish. Easy enough to figure out, but how hard is it for the manufacturer to provide a page or two of information and specs?
Despite the REI information, there is one high-power LED, not 5 separate ones.
So, the light has features that I want but the manufacturer needs to step up the quality control and pay someone the hour that it takes to write up a bit of user documentation.
