- Features premium 750-fill-power goose down insulation, a downproof, partially recycled ripstop polyester shell and lining
- Exclusive REI Down Fill Calculator optimizes the amount of down per baffle for the most warmth with the least amount of down
- In-the-round design and baffle spacing allows the goose down to remain fully lofted and keeps it from shifting and migrating, preventing the onset of cold spots
- Contoured hood, face muffler, trapezoidal foot box, full-length, antisnag zipper, and full-length draft tube with ground-level seams all keep body heat in, cold air out
- External chest pocket keeps essentials—headlamp, watch, glasses—right at hand and easy to find in the dark

I've used this on 40 degree nights unzipped of course, and 21 degree nights and didn't feel any of the cold coming through this bag. Weighs less than 2 lbs and packs down to the size of a 6 pack with my granite gear compression stuff sack. Feels like silk inside and out, worries me about durability but so far so good. The zipper snags easily and still no tears or holes so that's a good sign. The one complaint besides the zipper snagging is the down leakage. It will never be enough to affect the life of the bag, but you will have tiny down particles on your fleece and beanie etc. A little bothersome, but besides that, this would be rated 5+. They made a newer version since getting mine around first release where I heard they added a strip of nylon to prevent snags. Don't know if they addressed the leakage issue at the same time?

The bag is really good and comfortable. It was gear of the year in 2011. I bought it in the outlet for half price. I tested it in Yosemite for 4 nights. The warmest night was around 50F and I was sweating in the bag. The coldest night was around ~30F and I was sleeping without a shelter. The bag was plenty warm and I never felt cold. It did not absorb humidity and it was comfortable. The bag is kind of roomy (maybe too much ?!) around the chest area. That's my only complain, but I'm skinny so maybe it's better for other people. All in all : buy it if you find it at a discounted price.
