REI Sub Kilo +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buyis rated4.4737out of5by19.
Rated5out of5byfromGreat weight saverI upgraded from a +20F synthetic that weighed close to 4lbs and love the lightweight warmth of the sub kilo! I use the bag on backpacking trips, car camping, and on Mt. Rainier including Liberty Ridge. Overall a simple, lightweight bag in a great color!

Rated4out of5byfromGreat BagI took this bag on a September/October thru hike of the Long Trail in VT. Coupling it with a silk liner I had no trouble staying warm enough even at 4K+ elevation. It is light, packs small, and does the job. Nice bag for a good price. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 star rating because it was just a tad snug around the upper torso for me.

Rated5out of5byfromWarm, soft, compressible bagI used this bag for my entire PCT through hike and it was fantastic. It was nearly as light and performed just as well as many other, much more expensive bags I saw on the trail. The only possible con is that it might be a bit tight for folks much bigger than me (5" 10' 160') when all the way zipped up... Bottom line: it was a great buy, and I'm likely to buy another soon.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat bag at a great priceGreat bag. I've tested it for about 10 nights so far down to 30°F, and haven't had to zip it up fully yet. The draft tube is beefy and works well. Packs down tiny - I can fit it (with some effort) into my 8L compression sack. Not bad at all for a bag of this temp rating and price. I'm 6' and 155 pounds. I fit fine, but if you're any taller or a good bit heavier the fit will be tight around the shoulders and midsection. That's the tradeoff for having a light and compact bag at this price. The elastic pulls are shape-coded so you can easily tell which is which in the middle of the night. Smart. It takes a while to regain loft after being packed, but I also pack it down pretty tight.

Rated5out of5byfromNice sleeping bag, lil snug, best value!I bought this bag on a great deal off of REI's outlet store. I was a little hesitant because of the other reviews that spoke about this bag's lack of room, but being that it's down, packs down very small and was a great price I gave it a shot. Though it is a little tight, I wasn't bothered by it. I slept well and I didn't mind the tight space for the three nights that I used it. Zipper seemed fine. For reference, I'm 5'11", 180 lbs, with about a 40" chest and about 50" around the shoulders.

Rated5out of5byfromFantastic!Love this bag. Bought the subkilo for my wife last year and couldn't wait to upgrade to my own. Best value on the market!

Rated4out of5byfromWarm, light, tightThis absurdly light bag performs as advertised, but the reviews are right: super tight around the shoulders. I'm 5'11" 170 lbs and I don't have much wiggle room at all. I almost returned it over this, but once you've fallen asleep it's not a big deal, and on a recent backpacking trip above treeline in the Sierras it was so satisfying to pack this down to the size of a loaf of bread every morning that I decided the tightness was worth it. It was a warm spell in the mountains and many nights I woke up sweating and unzipped. I feel like the 20 degree rating is probably fine, especially with long johns and a hat.

Rated4out of5byfromWarm and CozyI bought this bag because my last sleeping bag did not keep me warm to its rating. I am a cold sleeper and this has kept me warm on nights below 35 degrees. I haven't tested it much lower than that but it kept me warm and cozy with shorts and t-shirt on. The biggest plus with this bag is it's compressibility. I stuff my sleeping pad and this bag into a 20L compression stuff sack that really saves space in my backpack.
