Rated5out of5byjckidfromSolid bootsI've had these for several years now and have put them to the test. They are absolutely the best hiking boot I've found. I have problem feet and weak ankles and these are one of the few shoes/boots I have that I can walk in all day, and they have great ankle support. I have used them for on and off-trail backpacking, which is where they shine. I use them for day hikes too, but prefer a lighter boot for easy, shorter hikes. These are truly waterproof too, unlike other shoes and boots I've had that claim to be waterproof. I've literally hiked up a waterfall, (probably 25' high) in the desert where I just resigned myself to the fact that my feet would be soaked, but to my surprise I stayed completely dry and I didn't even slip on the mossy rocks. Having gators did help keep water from getting in through the top. Just last weekend I walked right across a creek that was 3-5" deep and not a drop got in the boots. These boots are a little heavy, but they are comfortable, well made, dependable, supportive, and worth the price.

Rated2out of5byWhiteMtnLvrfromUpdateBought these Spring of 2012 - hiked quite a bit that summer. LOVED them! This spring.. they started ripping my heels up .. not sure why. I don't know what changed. The shoe looks great - obv wear and tear on the toe.. soles are in great shape and grip like crazy ... but just can't take the heel blisters. Have tried everything .. just got some Leukotape - will try that. I just wanted to be honest and thorough in my review.

Rated5out of5byWhiteMtnLvrfromAWESOMEI bought these to use on a 3 week long hike in May. I thought I would have to spend more time breaking them in - but no - popped em on for a quick hike and NO BLISTERS!! I have used them with hiking socks and with regular socks.. no problem. Wet terrain, scrambled over rocks, hiked in high heat, slogged thru snow.. these boots are great! I have a VERY narrow heel and a sort of wider toe base and these boots fit perfect.(I wear a 9, bought a 9). They are a little heavy but I need that for the pack I will be carrying, and I want the stability of a sturdy boot. I haven't had a problem with sweaty feet, and my socks stayed dry in wet conditions. No blisters is a huge plus. Try em, buy em, and get out there!!

Rated5out of5byperchingbirdfromComfortable boots - always goodI tried these boots on the recommendation of a colleague, and I'm glad that I did! I've had them over 6 months, and hiked through rainforest, alpine forest, beach (don't ask) and coastal mountains in them.
I travel a variety of terrain for my career, and need heavy duty boots - there aren't many of them on the market, so I've had Asolo GTX (2 pairs)for over 5 years. The Zamberlans are actually more comfortable for me; I have a high arch and narrow ankle. For kicks, I put my Asolos on for a short 10 minute walk the other day and was surprised at the difference between the two boots.
If you travel off-trail, these are amazing boots. You can cross shallow streams, and when paired with rain gear you can hike in a down pour. I usually pair them with gaiters to keep "stuff" out of the boot when off trail.
