Rated5out of5byfromExcellent Shoes!I've only had these shoes for less than a week, but I can already tell these will be one of my favorites of all time! The Cascadia 7 is incredibly comfortable, has an attractive appearance, and appears rugged/durable. I plan on using these for trail running and light hiking. I usually have trouble getting shoes to fit me properly, but these immediately fit well and wraps around my foot in a way that feels snugly secure. It may have to do with the wide-ish toebox and unique offset lacing. Also, I've been in the dirt and the tread grips super the risk of an overstatement, it reminded me of my football cleats! I can't wait to get on a trail with these--highly recommended!

Rated5out of5byfromWOuld buy these againI use these shoes for trail running and light hiking. They are great on gravel and rocks. Originally bought one size too small, realized it when I got home, and exchanged for the right size (noted that my other running shoes are also a size bigger than my street shoes). REI had these on sale and their service was great. Good shoes!

Rated1out of5byfromFrom comfy to uncomfy in one hikeI bought these for more moderate trails when a full hiker isn't needed. I wore them to work for a couple of days to break them in; they felt like slippers. Wonderful. Then on the first hike (Graveyard Fields off the BRP), they started to hurt and abrade my toes and the soles felt wonky. I thought it was just a bad day or something, switched to my Keens, and felt better. Tried them a couple of more times in the past few weeks and they get worse every time. Did 3 easy miles last week and my feet were sore for 3 days.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat shoes for light trail workI like doing short afternoon hikes - 3 to 7 miles, maybe 1000 feet of gain on grave and dirt trails. I have used my medium duty boots, running shoes, and light hiking shoes. These provide all the comfort of the running shoes and most of the benefits of trail shoes. The traction is great - surprisingly good even on hardpack trails with gravel. They are pretty grippy on rock too. The lace arrangement is unique but feels great. Im a big guy 6'2" and 250 lbs so durability is where good shoes are differentiated from the great. Build and materials look good, so lets hope for the best. These are REALLY ORANGE, so unless you are an Oregon State fan, make sure you like them because they arent understated.
