Rated5out of5byJONdePDXfromMy MurseI bought this under the guise of a lunch bag, but I really use it as a purse. Sure it carries my lunch, but it also holds my wallet, keys, coffee thermos, gum, a pen, hand sanitizer, earphones, ID, dental floss, lip balm, various loose receipts, and anti-diarrhea medication (where will you be when diarrhea strikes?). AND it comes with a bottle opener. I throw this giant purse over my shoulder every morning and nobody's the wiser because it looks like a regular old cooler.

Rated4out of5byRobofromGreat CoolerI had the smaller version of this cooler. I wanted a bigger one. The insulation is good and now I can carry 2 20oz bottles, plus sandwich, chips, etc.

Rated3out of5byscarjfromGood but didn't last longI've purchased many coolers for work. They rarely kept my food cool. I found this and thought I'd give it a try. The good: It kept my food cool along with an ice pack. It's sturdy and quality made to include the plastic liner on the inside. The bad: It lasted for about a year. About an inch of the liner came apart at the seams. I started noticing my food wasn't as cool as it used to be but I couldn't tell why. The bag still looked to be in good condition until the bottom of the bag was soaked. I was hoping it would last longer.

Rated5out of5byeliserrrfromIndestructible!I cannot say enough good things about this cooler. It is the perfect size for everyday lunches. I can cram condiments, tupperware, utensils, and fruits and veggies into it and not have to worry about putting anything in the fridge while at work so long as I have a trusty cooler pack inside it. The cooler keeps everything cold all day. The interior vinyl cleans easily and the adjustable strap helps carry it long distances. My lunches have definitely been upgraded since investing in this cooler. I'd kiss my lil' green monster I love it so!

Rated5out of5bynicholsmffromOutstanding productMy two 7 year old sons are attending a day camp this summer where they are outside from 8 AM to 5 PM. I was searching for something to keep their cold foods cold from drop off time until lunch. I picked up two REI personal coolers after much research and I'm glad that I did. My sons have told me multiple times that their food is cold at lunch when other kids complain that their yogurt is warm or their sandwich is hot. For those wondering about the size, for reference a six pack of Sam Adams (bottles) will fit inside with a little room left around all sides – just a reference, my sons don't take beer to camp ha ha.

Rated5out of5byklmmicrofromGreat lunch pail -Bought a new one to replace one that fell out of the back of a pickup truck. It hit the ground loaded with ice packs and food at freeway speed. We went back and recovered the pail and were all astounded that it was still serviceable. Banged up, dirty and showing obvious signs of abuse…but still able to hold lunches while keeping them cool. The zippers did take a little too much stress though and started to get stuck...hence the replacement.
I have found that two inexpensive "blue ice packs" is enough to keep food cool for two days if the lid is kept closed and the pail is out of direct sunlight. It is easily capable of keeping my lunch fresh for an entire day on the road regardless of how many times I access the contents or whether it is shaded or not.
The main space is large enough for my two "ice packs", a 20 ounce water bottle, two sandwiches, a yogurt and fruit. There is still a little room left over usually. There are two external side pockets that are designed with elastic at the top. I guess they are for carrying water bottles, but I usually keep them full of granola bars and the like. There is also a front zippered pocket where I keep a can keep a can opener, as well as any utensils I might want.
The top carrying handle is sturdy and I have used it as a lashing point for strapping to my bike for daytime jaunts. The shoulder strap is not padded, but is wide enough to keep it from digging in while carrying it short distances. Overall, the construction is robust and lives up to the quality that I would expect from an REI product.
The "new" one is every bit as good as the original one with a lot less battle damage. Would not hesitate to recommend one of these pails for anyone needing a sturdy soft sided lunch cooler solution.

Rated4out of5byBarb the bikerfromGreat Little Cooler, Zipper SticksWe love this cooler. We take it on picnics, day trips, and on the boat. It is light weight and just the right the size. The only drawback is the top zipper has a tendency to jam. I went back to the store to look at others and the top zipper was sticking on those as well.

Rated5out of5bylawebchickfromFood for 1I use this for lunch everyday at work, packing in all sorts of things. It comfortably holds my entire meal and an afternoon snack. It's durable, stable, and can take some stuffing. Handy pockets on the outside for bottles. Despite the "Food for 2" in the description, I'd say it has ample room for 1.
