The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5byWillie PetefromREI COTFor the price, you cant beat it. My experience with cots is limited to the military version. This cot is super easy to set up and take down. I didnt have any problems with the cot making noise, etc. It is heavier than I expected, but since I packed it in the car with everything else its a moot point. Having slept on military cots for months and months at a time, I prefer to put an air matress underneath for comfort. This is especially necessary if camping out in the cold to insulate from below, since your sleeping bag is compressed? My family and I just spent the week in upper GA camping and I was totally impressed with this cot. I also use carpet samples from Home Depot underneath the feet of the cot to protect my tent from wear and tear (as a side note :)

Rated5out of5byooremyfromSturdyI chose this cot because it supports up to 300lbs. I'm 250lb and there is no noticeable give when I lay down. It was easy to setup in under 30 seconds with no instructions needed. Once you have the legs folded out, be sure to tighten the nylon straps so the legs stay in place. This also serves to keep the cot from making any noise when you lay down or shift positions. I am comfortable sleeping on my back or on either side in this cot, which surprised me. I am using this as my permanent bed in a smaller apt. I also wouldn't hesitate to take it camping, so long as I didn't have to lug it too far.

Rated1out of5byGiorgiofromThrew it awayI bought this cot for occasional car camping use. It's sturdy and comfortable, especially with a camping pad on it. It was difficult to fold up, but I always managed to get it stowed with a bit of fiddling. I recently took it with me as an onsite bed on an out-of-state remodel I did for a family member. Job over, and it just would not fold back up. Several of us tried to no avail. I called REI for phone help, nothing worked. GRRRRR!!!! I had no choice but to throw it in the dumpster and start my thousand mile drive home. I would have returned it if this happened closer to home, but driving home with it strapped to the outside of the car would have caused paint damage or traffic issues.

Rated4out of5byMaulerfromSolid and usefulNeeded mostly for short road trips where the sleeping is near the parking. Not a light cot but so far very durable. Only a four star because the carry bag tore after 2 outings, but nothing major.

Rated5out of5bywaterrocketsfromGreat cot! These cots are great. We've had two of them for about a year now, and used them about a dozen times. They're also great for guests when you run out of beds -- a couple of my kids prefer them to their nice bed!
There are comments about how squeaky/creaky these are, and that's very true -- out of the box. There is a very quick and easy fix, and it's lasted the year we've had them: spray a teflon dry lube into the tube slots. I used PB Blaster dry lube. Stand the folded cot upright so the lube can drip down the tubes inside the fabric. Then assemble it about 80% and twist the fabric around to spread the lube. Done. It won't make a peep again.

Rated4out of5byBrookBfromBetter Than More Expensive ModelREI sells a deluxe camping cot, with built-in padding, for a higher price. I originally bought that one, but had trouble with its legs bending during use and then not being able to retract. (I weigh 165 lbs.-- WELL below what that cot is supposedly built to support.) I returned that to the store and exchanged it for this one and the difference in cash. I found this one to be sturdier, convenient to carry, and quite easy to set up and take down. I did add a 2" mattress on top, and was very comfortable with this combination. I don't know how comfortable the cot would be without it.

Rated5out of5bypaulabethfromIt's Got My BackBecause I am now in the category of a geezer and can no longer sleep on the ground in our tent comfortably this cot allows me to continue camping in comfort. My back feels better in the morning than even when I get out of my own bed at home! I use it with a thermarest pad. My husband tried it and he liked it so much he got one too.
